[Get Crunk] Friday Party Playlist (Vol 215)

Friday night’s are for spending time with friends. Whether you are heading to a party, or kicking back at someone’s place, you’re going to need music. Even if you’re headed to the club, during your transport you’ll need some tunes, especially if your Uber drive hands you the aux chord. You don’t wanna look bad and not having anything to play. That’s where we come in. This week’s Friday Party Playlist has plenty of good tracks to share. This week we have records from artists like No Riddim, Yntendo, Dusty Bits, Bad Royale and more. Hardly ever do we shout out a favorite, but this week’s first record is just hot, hot, hot. Run through all twelve and enjoy your weekend. Most importantly, #danceirresponsibly.

[Electronic] Big Wild – Invincible (feat. iDA HAWK)

It’s been a while since we’ve gotten new music from Big Wild, but he’s been far from inactive. The California-based producer has spent the last year touring the country and world spreading his uniquely uplifting brand of electronic music to an ever-growing fanbase. Today marks a new chapter in his career, though, as he released “Invincible,” his second single on Odesza‘s Foreign Family Collective

Anyone who’s caught Big Wild live in the last 6 months or so will recognize this tune from his live sets but it doesn’t make the debut any less electrifying. With the help of some stunning vocals from iDA HAWK, who you may recognize from her work with GRiZ, Big Wild builds into a dazzling climax that encapsulates what makes his music so enticing and different. Give this one a listen above–we have a feeling this is just the start for Big Wild.

[Event Review] Porches & Japanese Breakfast @ The Larimer Lounge – Denver, CO – 9/26

In the relatively short expanse of two years or so, Aaron Maine’s Porches project has undergone quite a rapid transition in nearly every facet of singing, songwriting and production development (such a rapid acceleration of prowess in fact, that Maine also recently released the first wave of Pool demos, as a completely separate LP entitled Water, just a few months back). Just one listen from both 2014’s Slow Dance in the Cosmos to this year’s excellently crafted Pool, and it’s clear that the New York based Maine & co. have caught lightning in a bottle with their current iteration. In the process of constant evolution, Porches have become a magnetic live presence as well, gaining the notice of discerning listeners, critics, and labels alike, and this past Monday we were able to witness them in live glory at one of our favorite intimate indie venues in Denver, the Larimer Lounge.

Opening the night’s tasteful wave of festivities were fellow indie darlings Japanese Breakfast. Michelle Zauner, the mastermind behind Japanese Breakfast (and also guitarist and singer for the underrated Philadelphia indie rock band Little Big League) relocated to Eugene, OR after her mother was diagnosed with cancer, and it was while she was there that some of her previous lo-fi releases were revamped under the Japanese Breakfast moniker (PSA, she’s Korean). Japanese Breakfast, who are coming off of their debut LP Psychopomp on the boutique Yellow K Records, strode out as a four-piece, and set the scene brilliantly. Rolling through lovely live renditions of Psychopomp fare including two of this writer’s favorite singles of 2016 “Rugged Country”, and “Everybody Wants to Love You”, the group set a serene listening space for much of the audience in attendance. However, it was Japanese Breakfast’s perfect choice of covering The Cranberries’ “Dreams” which gleefully brought the house down. There was something quite special of seeing a room full of hipster-types belting out their best 90’s era Dolores O’Riordan impressions on a Monday night, and their closing rendition no doubt prepped the intimate crowd for Porches’ moody pop structuring.

After a brief soundcheck filled with what has become a typical sense of deadpan humor (follow their Instagram please), synthy arcs, and of course a handful of Aaron Maine one-liners, the five-piece was prepared to provide us sixty minutes of aural bliss. Perhaps one of the best features of the Larimer Lounge is that the stage lies a mere foot off the ground sans barriers, which always provides an ultra-personal & highly unparalleled access to some of our favorite artists in the entire landscape of music. So, as we stood a mere matter of inches from one of 2016’s most exciting musical prospects, Porches rolled out to the skating drum-kick of “Glow” and fell beautifully in sync within a matter of bars. Clearly the last year of a hefty touring schedule has resulted in an even firmer grasp of crowd interaction, song placement & set curation, and just a greater sense of comfort and ease while working the crowd over.

Throughout their captivating performance we were treated to excellent live takes on some of our favorite Porches singles including “Car”, “Hour”, and even”Be Apart” which we’ve noticed a pension for Maine to stay away from in a live context. But, one of this writer’s true highlights came as the crafty troupe began digging deeper into their back catalog, pulling out more polished versions of “Prism” & “Forgive” from the A/B side Ronald Paris House, and even a cowboy hat fueled singalong to Slow Dance in the Cosmos’ “Headsgiving”. Such a careful balance of humor, tasteful sounds, simple visual aesthetic, and intoxicating stage presence should be revered in today’s overly manufactured, personality-less, and rapidly shifting musical climate. Porches delivers both a sound and live performance package to be admired, and it seems they’ve only started to scratch the tip of the iceberg of a seemingly endless well of potential.

[Electronic] SHIVV – 3 Seconds

A name you probably don’t have on your mental list of producers is SHIVV. However, you will in a moment. We previously covered a single of his, but today we have a brand new one called “3 Seconds” that comes from his upcoming EP, due out in October.

“3 Seconds” is a song that will give every gamer nostalgia. It’s sounds are certainly influenced by the gaming community, paying homage to the classic tones that many of us heard growing up. SHIVV doesn’t keep it entirely old-school though, as he brings those sounds into the now with a bit of a grittier edge. His melodies are both strong and catchy. They’re augmented by crisp basses that give the song a sort of hard-rock edge to it. “3 Seconds” is the perfect combination of several things together in one. It’s also available as a direct download on SHIVV’s Soundcloud account. Hit it up, follow him, and enjoy!

Stylust Beats – Bandana [TMN Premiere]

Fans of Stylust Beats can expect new music soon. In fact, they get a little something now through this Music Ninja Premiere with “Bandana.” This single is the title track for the Los Angeles act’s forthcoming EP, due out on October 13th through Sleeveless Records.

“Bandana” is a cool hybrid original, blending the sounds of trap and dubstep together in a way that few have done before. Usually when that happens, producers opt for a heavier, harder sound, but Stylust Beats switch things up for a more thugged out vibe. It’s got groove and attitude. Fans will surely be digging this one in a live atmosphere. It’s a dynamic record that can be played at anytime and have people embracing it to the fullest. Expect more great tracks from Stylust Beats on the Bandana EP. For now, download this single today for free.

[Future Bass] Element – Dimensions

When the sun is out, Chris Cruz is a tech-developer in Brooklyn. When the night comes, he becomes the beat-making machine Element. He’s only produced for a short amount of time, but a lot can happen in a small window. Element has quickly become a go-to name for strong records in his area of New York City.

Lately, Element has been pushing a new single called “Dimensions.” This original is an insane future bass record that exemplifies why Element is a must have on any music fan’s radar. A lot of the time when future bass gets created, it’s just not that great. It sounds like a watered down version of someone else’s song, and the actual songwriting isn’t good. With Element and “Dimensions” those do not apply in the slightest. Element just killed it in every way with this one. To make things even better, he released it for free!

[Ambient] Pure One – Become

Every once in a while I’m sent a submission so different that I’m not quite sure what to do with it. Such was the case when Pure One landed in my inbox over a year ago with her experimental, ambient and stirring sonic landscapes.  The more I listened, the more appreciation I gained for its subtleties, intricate arrangement and soft drum patterns. Rather than evoke the standard instant gratification many expect from music, Pure One’s work feels more focused on transporting listeners to an astral plane of reflection, growing in depth with each listen.

“Become,” the first single off her upcoming Deva EP encapsulates that style as she chops her silky vocal chant of “become your truth” adding reverb among other psychedelic accents. That obscuration teamed with expertly placed piano keys and unconventional, soothing percussive elements results in something that truly evokes self reflection if you allow yourself to truly get lost in it.

While it’s difficult to pinpoint clear influences, fans of artists like BjorkSigur Ros and Four Tet may enjoy this one. Listen for yourself above and look out for the Deva EP, which is due out on Bandcamp October 16th via Cora Records.

[Denver Event Preview/Ticket Giveaway] TMN Presents: Dance Yourself Clean – ‘An Indie-Pop Dance Party’

It’s that time again Denver! The amazing Seattle/L.A. club night turned nationally touring dance party, Dance Yourself Clean, is touching down again this Saturday, October 1st at the Larimer Lounge, as part of their Fall ’16 tour, and we’re beyond prepped & stoked for yet another raucous night of depravity, beautiful people and plenty of amazing tunes. For our friends that were out for DYC’s first ever Denver stop earlier this Spring at the Marquis Theater, they can surely attest to the truly positive, palpably sweaty, and infectiously frenetic energy generated by the foggy, laser-filled indie-pop party. Bringing back the indie-dance-punk-pop days with a beautiful vengeance, DYC patrons are typically seen singing along on the dance floor, slow dancing to the latest Blood Orange or jumping up and down to their favorite LCD Soundsystem song. In their own words: “Anything goes at Dance Yourself Clean, all we ask is that you leave your expectations and inhibitions at the door, come in take a shot and get on the floor.” That sounds just about right, and we are chomping at the bit to be a part of the latest Dance Yourself Clean festivities.

So, in great anticipation for DYC’s latest Denver iteration, we’ve teamed up with the DYC crew and put together quite the tasteful little playlist in anticipation of Saturday’s party. Not to mention! We will be giving away not one but TWO pairs of tickets, simply by clicking on the header of this post, and commenting with your favorite indie-pop track that you think should receive a rinse at Dance Yourself Clean. That’s it! And for those Ninjas who’d rather not try their luck and just want to have their tickets in hand, you can pick them up for just $12.00 here, and more event info can be found here as well.

There are a few rules, of course:
– The event is 21+ S, be of age, and be sure to tell all of your friends to increase chance of winning!
– You are responsible for your own transportation.
– You must bring a valid form of ID to pick up your tickets at the Larimer Lounge door.

[Electronic] Twelve Tales – Enchanted Forest

Twelve Tales is an up and coming production duo who’ve put out a slew of genre bending electronic tunes leading up to their latest project, Prelude EP, which is out now. Although I first discovered the duo through a recent collaboration with Twelve’Len, Twelve Tales’ most recent release shows that they can stand on their own while continuing to hone in on their distinct style. The Yung Joc-sampling “Enchanted Forest,” shared above, is a personal favorite but you can check out the whole project here

[Soul] Moses Sumney – Lonely World (feat. Thundercat)

I first came across Moses Sumney during an intimate headlining performance at this year’s Form Arcosanti festival. Given the crowd’s tangible excitement, I was surprised I hadn’t yet heard much about the LA-based singer/songwriter. His performance was haunting and emotionally intense leaving the audience fully entranced. In combining ambient, slow-building soundscapes with beautiful, heart-wrenching vocals, Sumney has proven himself a force among new wave soul/R&B artists and the music world has taken notice. He’s joined James Blake on his recent tour (a bill made in heaven!), will be featured on Solange Knowles’s upcoming album and has been co-signed by Sufjan Stevens among others.

Aside from his work with prominent artists, Sumney is gearing up to release his Lamentations EP on September 30th and today he dropped the latest single, “Lonely World.” The 5-minute tracks, which features superb bass work from Thundercat, starts with a stripped-down instrumental leaving Sumney’s vocals to draw the listener in. As the instrumentation fills out, your taken into a state of hypnosis only broken by an intense, layered closing. It’s a track that I’ve already listened to 10 times and chances are you will have too by the end of the day. Give it a spin above and see for yourself.

[Alternative Pop] Jack River – Palo Alto

One of the best facets of music is the ability to capture a specific moment in time or a definitive emotion, but the newest from Jack River details quite a bit more than that. She states:

I wrote and recorded Palo Alto through so many moments in my life that the song became a kind of folder for memories and sentiments over a long stretch of time. I started writing it in my hometown, then continued it in Sydney (my friend lived in a building called Palo Alto), and then wrote the rest in different trips to the studio. It was always destined to be sun-drenched and gritty and gilded in synths and electric guitars – I wanted to find the line between the 90’s, early 2000’s and now, and blend all my dreams of a highway song into one.

For you Courtney Barnett fans out there, look no further, because this song is right up your alley. With an unapologetic and boisterous spirit, “Palo Alto” continues to pave the way for Jack River’s upcoming debut EP, Highway Songs No.2, in a stylish and independent manner. It steers away from the much more electronically influenced “Talk Like That“, but it’s the sort of shift that demonstrates a fearless attempt at displaying a compelling range. Her message behind this tune, per her SoundCloud description, touches on a common sentiment:

It’s about letting go but not giving up, melancholic-but-sure endings, and people realizing magic when it’s too late – even though you knew it all along.

Subtle yet substantial, that’s an experience all too familiar for some of us. Highway Songs No.2 will be out on October 7th, so don’t miss it!

[Future Bass] Ghasper – Brand

Las Vegas is all about the party lifestyle. Somewhere in the midst of all the action you can find the cool beatmaker Ghasper. We pride ourselves on finding you those special hidden gems, and Ghasper is definitely one. The Nevada producer’s latest single “Brand” has just been released through our friends Uprise Music.

For longtime fans of Ghasper, you might recognize “Brand,” as it has been re-released through Uprise. We’re glad it did, because it probably would have stayed hidden from our ears. Not only did it drop today, but it was released as a free download for fans to enjoy. The mellow future sound of “Brand” is the exact track you’ll need in your Fall playlists. When you get home from work or school, you’ll want to grab your headphones and pop them in while you space out and relax. Bask in the vibes that Ghasper delivers, and enjoy “Brand” today.

Imogen Heap – The Dumbing Down of Love (COFRESi Remix) [TMN Premiere]

When you think electronic music in Chicago, you think house music. That’s not the case with the Windy City’s COFRESi, who’s bringing some quality beats to the table that aren’t bumping four-to-the-floor. COFRESi has been pushing boundary-breaking tunes for a couple years now, and today we’re happy to present to you another high-quality tune in today’s premiere. That tune is COFRESi’s remix of Imogen Heap‘s “The Dumbing Down of Love.”

COFRESi has several unreleased remixes out that you’ll get to hear over the next few months, but today you get an incredible take on a classic record from Imogen Heap and Guy Sigsworth’s project Frou Frou. The song’s ethereal sound is easy on the ears, while COFRESi’s cool grooves are easy on the body. He uses his unique sound design and expert songwriting abilities to put together one of the dopest remixes of the year. It’s really that good. One of the best things about it is that it’s available as a free download. Do yourself a favor, don’t sleep on it.

[Electronic Soul] Abi Ocia – Running

The instantaneous and powerful sensation of a song taking your breath away doesn’t come around often, but when it does, it acts swiftly with little warning. “Running” has that exact effect, and you’ll want to experience it firsthand. Abi Ocia‘s debut merges thoroughly entrancing and atmospheric production, courtesy of Draper and Mkulu, with her alluring voice into a meaningful and majestic song that carries traces of the always wonderful Jessie Ware throughout.

When it comes to providing a myriad of talented artists, London never falters, and Abi proves the strong case for her hometown yet again by stepping up to that standard right out of the gate. She demonstrates her tact in songwriting and appreciation of exploring the entire space of the song with a deft ease. Now that fall is slowly beginning to show signs of arriving, we’ve now got another exceptional song with which to enjoy the incipient colder weather. Get familiar with name Abi Ocia. She’s on her way to being someone great.

[Future] Bobby Green – Floods feat. The Foxies

We have long been Bobby Green fans in the dojo. We’ve been a bit down because he hasn’t put out new music in a bit, but he’s back and better than ever. Recently, Bobby dropped his original “Floods” featuring The Foxies through Attack Records.

“Floods” is a unique love track as the styles it takes from are both tropical and future. I understand, you’re asking how the hell do tropical sounds mix with future? I can’t explain it, the only answer I have for you is “Floods.” Bobby and The Foxies did something special with this one, establishing that Bobby didn’t go anywhere. We can only hope he’s been gearing up for something big, and by the looks of it, he is. Stream “Floods” today and make sure to grab this one on iTunes. It is a must have.

[House] Constant Z – Tell Me + Sam Feldt Remix

In the past month, the Russian artist Constant Z has dropped two killer tracks. One is an original, and the other is a remix that he cooked up for a competition. The first, “Tell Me” dropped around a month ago, and the other was recently uploaded for Sam Feldt’s “Summer On You” through Spinnin Deep.

After coming across “Tell Me” with its dark, laidback sound, I had to hear more Constant Z. His melodies struck deep and I knew this couldn’t be his only great track. To my surprise, an even newer track was uploaded, that being the previously mentioned remix. With the remix, Constant Z implements a similar style, focusing on a bassline and top lead to satisfy listeners ears. The polyphonic rhythms interplay incredibly, and since there’s only a handful, you’re able to memorize each with perfection. Which is good and bad, because one of these tracks will be playing in your head as you go about your day. If it’s not one, it’s the other.

[Dubstep] Oolacile – Expansion EP

Let’s get one thing straight. Dubstep isn’t dead, and it never died. It may not be as hype as it once was, but that all can change very quickly. Currently, it’s making somewhat of a comeback, thanks to some veterans as well as some newer artists like Oolacile. This talented bass-head recently came out with his Expansion EP on SMOG Records, and I’m here to tell you, it’s heavy. Like, REALLY heavy.

Althought Oolacile is the mastermind behind the project, the Expansion EP has its features including label head 12th Planet, Jumanji, MurDa, Savory and Boogie T. From start to finish, this EP is jam-packed to the brim with as much low frequency energy as you can handle. Oolacile moves between classic dub, riddim and the newer fashions of the genre with ease, yet he always has his own flavor on it. I’m not surprised in the slightest that SMOG picked this one up, and that its lead man wanted to collaborate with the up and comer. His focus on sound design and rhythm is something that really shines in this project, and will continue to do so as his career progresses. Take note, Oolacile is here to stay. Grab Expansion now!

Dirty South – All of us (Eden Prince Remix)

You’ve probably heard the name Dirty South before, but maybe not the smaller artist Eden Prince. A remix of the Dirty South original, “All of us” was just dropped by this up-and-comer. We were impressed. Eden Prince seems to have an excellent handle on the intricacies of house music but doesn’t take us too far into the realm tech-house. Instead he walks the line with club sounds and pop elements. Check it out, we should be seeing more from Eden Prince soon.

J. F. July – Found (Model 86 Remix) [TMN PREMIERE]

J. F. July‘s debut single “Found” just got remixed by Model 86, and it is some of the most tasteful electronic music we’ve heard in a while. In between July’s smooth vocals and the mellowness of the original track, fellow UK producer Model 86 manages to squeeze in his distinctive production style and turn it up a couple notches.

The wavy arpeggio-driven style is reminiscent of the Flume sound, and the incorporation with crafty samples just makes it twice as catchy. For a producer who is no stranger to experimenting with new sounds, Model 86 is knocking this one out of the ball park. This genre-bending remix will definitely make some waves in the electronic music community, especially in the UK scene.

If you’re feeling this fresh tune as much as we do, make sure to give these guys a follow. You don’t want to miss out on this dream UK connection.

[Music Video] ENV – Your Love feat. Little Nikki

Earlier this week ENV dished out a single through Uprise Music. “Your Love” featuring Little Nikki was the tune, but it’s not just the tune we’re going to be talking about today. In conjunction with the audio, the crew put together a fun little music video.

“Your Love” is a spunky club record whose deep, groovy vibes will get your body shaking. It’s a strong melodic record that both parties involved did an amazing job with. As for the music video, it’s equally as lively as the tune. The viewer gets taken on a wild ride through a carnival, as well as a rave as the relationship between a couple unfolds. Bright lights, lots of cuts and exciting imagery, this is one solid video. It has a lot of elements that other videos have, but they managed to keep it fresh and alluring.

Kicks N Licks have been moving towards a more emotive sound over the past few releases as, we can assume, they gear up for something big on the horizon. This new one is easily one of their best originals. It was written to represent that special person in your life that can always brighten your day. Share the single with the; bask in the light they bring to you and hold on tight. By the time you have done this, we hope you already grabbed the free download, because it won’t be here forever! [Electronic] Dimond Saints – IDGAF feat. Yaarrohs

In the near future, Dimond Saints will be releasing their album Prism In The Dark. Although anybody should be pumped that they are releasing an album, the Oakland duo decided to release a single ahead of time to get people jazzed. “IDGAF” is that single, and it will have you at the edge of your seat, 100% ready for Prism In The Dark.

“IDGAF” is a delectable sonic treat. Los Angeles vocalist Yaarrohs provides her voice to the mix. It’s as seductive as it is ghostly. Her voice is laden within a backdrop of bone-chilling soundscapes, and soulful percussive structures. All together the pieces make up a single that has a strong chance at making some noise on the radio. Only catch is the name, but who gives a… well, you know. clayton – livelove [TMN DEBUT PREMIERE]

When I first laid ears on “livelove,” I was instantly transported back to my mom’s old minivan, cycling through that iconic collection of Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Curtis Mayfield tapes over and over again while we went to and from school. There’s an undeniable connection there that I just can’t shake, not that I would ever want to.

This brand new, debut tune is coming your way from LA-based, singer-songwriter clayton, who’s bringing a fresh perspective on classic soul styling that he’s self-dubbed Soul Nostalgia. The evocative air surrounding it is hard to look past, considering the classic, clean guitar work, silky smooth vocals, and a bassline with just enough funk. In addition to the instrumentals, which are written and performed entirely by clayton himself, we also have a strong, positive sentiment in the lyrics that’s overwhelmingly welcome, especially given the current state of the world.

If you’re feeling this tune, make sure to follow clayton over on SoundCloud. His handle is appropriately named “claytonluvsu,” so he won’t be hard to find. If you do struggle, though, just click here, and show some love back.

[Electronic] Mat Zo – MAD EP

As I sit down to write up the MAD EP by Mat Zo, I’m at a loss for words. Not even in just describing the project, but just in general. The MAD EP is that good; it’s going to mess with your brain and you’re not going to be able to think straight.

The whole project, including the artwork, is damn near perfect. The three track EP was released by Mat’s label Mad Zoo in conjunction with his tour announcement. From the start of the first track, “Trogoldyte,” Mat puts the listener in a trance with a majestic introduction that sounds as though it was created by Elfman for the beginning of a Burton flick. From there it moves into a celestial, bass-heavy production. With “Take It Back” Mat gets down and dirty with a hip-hop tinged original featuring Foreign Beggars. Although he has come so far, you get to hear some of his drum & bass influences from his early days as a producer. The same can be said for “MAD” who’s jungle sound will get any party pumping. It really will make you go mad.

The artwork embodies the sounds of the EP to a T. We’ve been bumping this since it was released two weeks ago. If it’s somehow slipped under your radar, give it a listen. If you’ve already heard it, you know you wanna play it again. MAD is currently available on digital stores. If you would like to see Mat during his tour, check out his dates below!

[Give Back] Help make #LouisianaStrong & Enter for a Chance to Win Epic Concert Experiences

Ninjas, it’s time to rally your dojo and come together for a very deserving cause. In August of 2016, Southern Louisiana received more than 6 trillion gallons of rainwater in less than one week. Considered a 500-year flood event, it is the largest natural disaster in the US since Superstorm Sandy. More than 100,000 homes have been destroyed, 13 are dead, and hundreds of thousands are impacted across 12 parishes in the region. Within days of flood waters rising, various artists, festival organizers, and music industry executives joined forces to organize music and concert experiences to raise awareness and deliver relief to this urgent cause.

While we’re firm believers in donating just for the sake of helping others, this time around there’s an added bonus of incredible music. Each contribution pf $5 or more through Propeller.la will get receive this 18-track, multi-genre, #LouisianaStrong compilation featuring unreleased tracks from named like Beats Antique, Z-Trip, Figure, Boreta, Dirtwire and more.

Beyond the 18-track collection, which you can stream below, there are also experiences up for grabs that are truly once-in-a-lifetime, including the opportunity to hang out with The Chainsmokers at Voodoo Festival in New Orleans, a chance to meet Thievery Corp at III Festival in Miami, and a trip to witness the greatness of The Who, The Stones, Bob Dylan, Roger Waters, Neil Young, and Paul McCartney at Desert Trip.

Rest comfortably knowing that your dollars are going to a top-notch organization. Music for Relief, a 501(3)c nonprofit dedicated to disaster relief & environmental preservation will be accepting donations to be distributed to on the ground responders Team Rubicon & Baton Rouge Habitat for Humanity, as well the Baton Rouge Area Foundation’s Flood Relief Fund, a 501(3)c non- profit devoted to distributing aid directly to local charities providing disaster relief across Southern Louisiana.

[Future Bass] Zeds Dead x NGHTMRE – Frontlines (feat. GG Magree)

Zeds Dead meets NGHTMRE; it’s great, what would you expect? Their collaboration on “Frontlines” may not be what you expect stylistically, but it will pass any set of expectations of quality. Furthermore, GG Magree lends her lovely vocals to the mix to really make this single a memorable one.

“Frontlines” has the usually heavier acts going future bass. Really though, these acts can succeed at anything they put their minds to, as they have already proved in the past. “Frontlines” has the iconic soaring synths that really stick out within the genre, but aren’t so easy to come by. Some producers can’t nail the anthemic feel that should come with them, but that is not lacking one bit in “Frontlines.” Released through Deadbeats, “Frontlines” is currently available for purchase at the digital store of your preference.

[Electronic] Youngman Goon – Call & Response

If you call yourself a reader of The Music Ninja, then you’re already familiar with our very own Clayton Warwick. Interestingly enough, despite working in the Dojo and heading up his company Cadence & Cause, Clayton has enough time for some fun. This is the time where Youngman Goon was born in partnership with Beatport’s Jon Sakas, who took the production lead on the project. After enough time jamming in the basement, they decided to launch their endeavor with “Call & Response.”

Youngman Goon certainly put their best foot forward with “Call & Response.” From the get go with the guitar and claps, you know you’re in for a real treat. Slow, groovy, and infectious, this original has me wanting to hear more. A passion project, yes; but that doesn’t mean it won’t become something more than expected. Especially if they keep releasing gems like this.

If you’re looking for a song with incredible replay value, then you’ve found it. “Call & Response” is currently available for stream exclusively through Soundcloud, so you surely will be hitting replay. What makes this one even better, whether purposeful or not, is that the song’s length is 4:20. It may just be the Colorado in them, or maybe something else. Whatever it may be, what is for sure is you need to keep your ears peeled for more Youngman Goon. Even better, go bother Jon and Clayton for more!

[Electronic] Fytch – Show You (ft. Alisa Nappa)

Following the success of Falls Like Rain EP, French producer Fytch is back at it with a fresh new track off his upcoming Show Me EP. “Show You” once again features the lovely vocals by Alisa Nappa. Contrasting to their previous collaboration “Over Your Head”, the EP title track has toned down the bass a few notches and embodies a downtempo vibe. Alisa’s fluid vocals takes the track on a smooth sail, which will leave you vibin’ from beginning to end.

Fytch has proven once again just how versatile yet unique his music is. His recent work has helped set the bar high for bass music, and we cannot wait ’til the full EP comes out this Friday.

Kraak & Smaak Talk Albums, Live Sets & Boogie Angst In The Dojo [TMN Interview]

The Netherlands is a hub for talent, especially if you were focusing on electronic music. Most people will immediately think of Hardwell, Afrojack, and Martin Garrix, but there are three men who have been trailblazing dance music in a big way for over 10 years now. They are Kraak & Smaak.

Kraak & Smaak is comprised of Oscar de Jong, Mark Kneppers and Wim Plug. Together they produce riveting dance music that is anything but average. In fact, even if you don’t call yourself a lover of electronic music, leave it to these guys to take your heart. They are more than dance music producers. They are artistic visionaries. Don’t believe us? Run through the five albums they have done together, including their latest, Juicy Fruit, and tell us otherwise.

Furthermore, they’ve got a live show that will blow any DJ set out of the water (even their own), and they run the exemplary imprint Boogie Angst. A lot of artists talk about paving new trails and creating new experiences, but Kraak & Smaak walk the walk. They’ve done it for years. Now, they’ve entered the dojo to talk a bit about their past together, as well as their latest album and what is in store.

TMN: Can you tell us a little about “Juicy Fruit,” your latest album?

Well, it’s our 5th and feels like a bit of a return from 2005’s Boogie Angst. It’s open, organic, warm and above all funky in the traditional sense of the word, so in that sense different from Chrome Waves, which was far more electronic and clubby. There is a big difference though between then and now: on our first album it was mostly sample based, including the vocals and songs that were on there. Since then we have mastered the art of using more and more live instrumentation and getting vocalists to work with us. I think we can be proud of ourselves again to have found such great songwriters and vocalists such as Eric Biddines, Cleopold, Meeka Kates, Mayer Hawthorne, ALXNDR London and Parcels, but also our own live band singers Ivar Vermeulen and Berenice van Leer.

TMN: How did you go about choosing remixers for next the single ‘Alone With You’?

We always start out with a longlist of ideas based on current favorites and a bunch of names that have been circulating for a longer time. From thereon we look if certain remixers could be a good match and pick out the best ones. Then we ask them and just hope a) they don’t hate our music b) they are available and c) they don’t cost too much 🙂

TMN: What inspired the artwork behind the LP?

With the album title Juicy Fruit became definitive, our first ideas were inspired by the paintings of Henry Rousseau and more in general Brazilian album artwork. I mean, with that title and the music it was only logical to have something colorful, fresh, organic, etc as the cover. Again we asked Jimmy Turrell, who also did the Electric Hustle album artwork, to come up with a few ideas. And among those, the final one immediately stood out: this big explosion of colorful objects, bulls eye!

TMN: Talk us through the live aspect of Kraak & Smaak and how it has evolved over the years?

Of course we started out Djing – which we already did for a longer time, but now under the K&S banner. But when the first album was up for release our then agent convinced us to start a separate live act because it made the music – which was essentially dancefloor based – more interesting to a bigger public. So we assembled a live band for the album presentation and it was an immediate hit: at the time there were only a few bands that performed that type of music in a similar manner, and certainly not in the Netherlands. So from thereon it really got bigger and bigger and alongside our dj sets we were able to develop the band further in terms of adding further live instrumentation, sound, lighting, etc. Our current band is more or less the third live incarnation of K&S but for us also the best ever. Above all it’s cool and logical for us to be able to both live shows and dj sets. It’s a best of both worlds but at the same time they are both quality.

TMN: You’ve been together for over a decade, how have you made it work between the three of you, and how have you maintained staying relevant?

I guess – especially with three people – it’s all about giving each other space and trust each other in ideas, expertise, etc. Ego for example has never been such an issue that it threatened the K&S project. I guess we were – and still are – very aware of what we have and are still accomplishing. Not many dance acts can say the same. And I think the relevancy is still there in the sense that we are still coming up with new and original material, against the grain of time perhaps.

You’ve survived several albums together, which is each of your favorite?

Oh dear… They’re all really good to us, just different! But If we all really look in the mirror I am sure we will all say the first one, Boogie Angst. Above all because it was our first, and with first albums it feels like it’s sort of the apex of everything you have done and thought of before. It’s the album you just had to make. After that it’s a whole different ball game – you just feel happy if you can develop your sound further and keep people interested – which I think we did.

TMN: You now also have your own label, Boogie Angst. What drove the decision to set this up and what has been the biggest challenge in creating a label?

We just came across some very good unreleased music and artists once in a while, and we thought: why not try and releasing it ourselves? It perfectly made sense when you came to think of it. And it’s definitely nice to put your own experiences and know how into new and young artists, real cool. Plus there is definitely still a need for labels to get new artists and music through. For most releases putting it just on Soundcloud and sit back is not enough. An important challenge for the time being though, is that it takes a lot of investing before you get a return. In that sense, as we are a relatively new label, we still have a long way to go.

TMN: What can fans expect for the rest of the year, and beginning of 2017?

Of course we will be rolling out the new album and its singles further this year and into 2017. Lots of DJing and playing live across the globe. Some upcoming remixes and DJ mixes going online. Also keep an eye out for new releases on our own Boogie Angst label and a remix album further down the 2017 road!

[Future Bass] .MOONZz. – Goodbye (Melvv Remix)

Frequently, artists release polished works of art to minimal fanfare or perhaps a brief smattering of praise. Occasionally, those same overlooked artists are fortunate enough to inspire producers to build on their original pieces, thus propelling them to a wider audience and greater acclaim.  The latter scenario may very well be the case in the coming weeks regarding Moonzz.

Electronic songstress Molly Williams a.k.a. .MOONZz. – who gained a fair amount of notoriety for her rendition of Kanye West’s “Wolves” in tandem with KRNE – released her debut EP last week.

’MOONZz – Wolves Remake’

While Trust Cycles has yet to made its rounds through the blogosphere, the first hit remix surfaced this week to make a cycle of its own. Whereas the original is an enchanting soundscape, Jeffrey Melvin’s remix follows a grittier electronic melody, heavy on vocal loops, electronic bass, and a signature abstract effect found in other popular tracks like Ganz’ remix of “Man x Woman”.

While Williams’ fanbase will be finding delight in Trust Cycles – which is available on Spotify and Apple Music – fans of Melvv can catch the young producer as he churns out bass-heavy remixes all summer.

[Event Preview] Symbiosis Gathering – Sept 22 – 25

There are types of festivals that help me get out of bed in the morning. They serve as anchors and living reminders of the parts of life that make us essentially human in an increasingly chaotic world. These high vibrational events are happening as a form of communion with the gods of dance, music, ceremony, native culture, and natural elements all around us. With the embers of this year’s Burning Man still glowing in people’s hearts, a younger more focused transformational gathering is right around the corner. Coming off if it’s first ever sold out festival Symbiosis Gathering returns to California’s Woodward Reservoir September 22-25 for its 2016 event ‘Family Tree’.

The theme this year says it all. A true combination of everything positive this world has to offer, centered around the tree that makes up all of life. The microcosm that blends all the energy on the planet is gathered here to be experienced for a few days. Wether it be spent on an Art Boat at the Swimbiosis Stage, or watching Amy Goodman speak while eating an Acai Bowl; there is no time wasted when everything is an experience waiting to be fulfilled.

Symbiosis really is on par with the top festivals in the world.. and they know it. With their artistry, timing, and setting they are able to create one of a kind moments. With morning ceremonies and sunset sets over a pristine landscape that satisfy every urge a human can possible conceive, it makes sense why they pride themselves on this unique ability. Hundreds of talks and workshops that touch on permaculture action, yoga and arts. Centered around its Hub space on-site, immersive programming ranged from cacao tasting to sacred leadership, hosted by cultural luminaries and academics from around the globe.

Oh and the music! Offering 6 individually crafted music stages nestled into a naturally occurring 5-pointed peninsula surrounded on all sides by the pristine swimmable water of the Reservoir, there is no better place to step out of the Matrix. RL Grime and Gramatik will be on the top of my list. Along with San Fransisco’s most sought after Dj An-ten-nae, who had a love set at the Swimbiosis stage at sunset last year that elevated the dance floor to another dimension. Unless I want to seduce a goddess listening to Hundred Waters or rock out to Santigold, I will be following the bass-heavy dance music at night like a mosquito to a porch light. It doesn’t stop there the Symbiosis’s all star family also includes Beats Antique, Claude Vonstroke, WarPaint, FKA Twigs, Justin Martin, Shiba San, Gaslamp Killer, Oh Wonder, and many more.

Make sure to Secure your ticket here. If you can’t make Symbiosis, this year don’t stress. This festivals serves as a precursor for what may be the burgeoning brand’s most important event to date: Symbiosis Gathering Oregon Eclipse 2017. On August 21st, 2017, a total solar eclipse will be visible over a small strip of land in the United States. Having secured a beautiful site situated in the direct path of the eclipse, Symbiosis will partner with revered international festival organizers to co-create an event unlike any in the world.

[Electronic] DROELOE – Shibuya

The Music Ninja first caught wind of DROELOE with the release of the duo’s mesmerizing single, “zZz.” Shortly after, we came to learn they were part of none other than San Holo’s label, bitbird, when he showcased their talents in his label’s first ever EP release “Gouldian Finch.”

With the Dutch artists indefinitely on our radars, we made sure to catch their latest tune “Shibuya.” DROELOE takes listeners into Tokyo through a piece that blends the forward thinking of electronic music with the classic sound of Asian instrumentals. Designing the track with layers of narrow plucking synths and imitations of string instrumentals, they create a product that not only resembles the title’s Japanese origin, but presents the authenticity of their work.

[Music Video] Revoke – Don’t Leave the Light On (feat. Tom Cantillon)

When an artist branches out, it’s a great thing. Some fans don’t like it, but even if they don’t make something exceptional, we can at least appreciate their desire for growth and creative adventure. Luckily, when Revoke chilled things out with his new single “Don’t Leave the Light On,” he created yet another amazing record that we love. Not only that, but we get a music video for it!

“Don’t Leave the Light On” is a total diversion for Revoke. It’s more of an indie record than a dance one, which is totally fine by us. Tom Cantillon did an incredible job with his vocal performance, pushing this one over the top. The music video is a straightforward juxtaposition of imagery between a relationship at different stages. We see innocent kids together playing, as well as their adult counterparts. Enjoy the video today, and head over to iTunes for a copy of the single.

[Pop/Electronic] Jarina De Marco – Tigre

The web-to-TV series Broad City is known for many things, one being its soundtrack. The collection of tracks have been curated by Matt FX, who also is credited as an executive producer of the soundtrack. Although the soundtrack is set for release on October 28th, Milan Records in conjunction with Comedy Central Records has pushed one of the singles out for stream already. That single is Jarina De Marco‘s “Tigre.”

“Tigre” is a vibrant record that takes influence from pop, Latin America and dancehall. It’s a memorable single, which is why it shouldn’t be a surprise that it got picked up by a television show. Fans of Major Lazer and Die Antwoord will especially love this record, as it has a few elements that are reminiscent of these acts. Jarina De Marco shines in “Tigre,” which is appealing to listeners who usually don’t find themselves latching onto these style records. There’s just something special about “Tigre” that we can’t put our finger on. Have a listen, maybe you will find it! “Tigre” is only available to stream, but will be purchasable along with the soundtrack on digital stores at the end of October. If you want the vinyl, you can grab it exclusively through Urban Outfitters.

High Tide 15:47 – And the Bubble Burst [TMN PREMIERE]

There’s nothing quite like waking up on Friday morning. The sun is shining a little brighter, traffic seems to flow a little easier than usual, and no matter how much work you have lying in front of you, it’s not as daunting knowing that a few days of freedom are right around the bend. This particular Friday has another big, shiny layer added to it, though, as we bring you a first look and listen to this brand new tune from Newcastle six-piece High Tide 15:47.

Within seconds of pressing play, you’ll find yourself completely entranced, helplessly grinning, bobbing your head, and incessantly tapping you foot. These reactions are brought fourth by playful percussion-style vocal harmonies that follow along the beat, providing a lighthearted mood from the start. From there, reverb-drenched guitars come charging in, adding a perfect amount of energy. The cherry on top? Steven Gordon’s psychedelically-treated, hazy vocals, which should have you singing along in no time.

This may be the first time you’re hearing of the lads, but after experiencing support from acts like Primal Sream, Wolf Alice, Eagulls, and countless others, it won’t be long before you’re seeing their name pop up on the regular.

If you’re feeling what Steven Gordon (vocals, guitar), Dan Murray (guitar), Al Charnley (guitar), Nick Hodgson (bass), Gaz Murray (keys) and Cole Gilroy (drums) are laying down, make sure to head out today and pick up this gem on iTunes, or add it to your “Favorites” playlist on Spotify.

[Music Video] Luna Shadows – Hallelujah California

Luna Shadows has quickly become one of California’s prized possessions. In a short amount of time, she’s gained a lot of traction for her crossover style and unique brand. Her imagery may be in black and white, but her creations are just the opposite; full of life and color.

On July 1st, her Birthday, she released her debut EP, Summertime. One of the lead singles off the project was “Hallelujah California,” which now has its own music video. The imagery within this piece is a fascinating collection of visuals from around her Southern California home. She keeps within her aesthetic, which until now we have only experienced in photographs. Now that it has been unleashed in video form, the experience the viewer has is moving. Luna Shadows is a true artist that is able to not only entertain, but to really play with your emotions. We have huge love for her, as well as the other individuals who helped on this project, including the Ride or Cry Collective, Production Club and many more. Watch the video today and hit up iTunes for the full EP.

Destructo & Wax Motif – Catching Plays (Will Clarke’s Cuddle Club Remix) [TMN PREMIERE]

Destructo kicks off his two-month Renegade Tour this week at our hometown purveyor of legendary evenings–Beta Nightclub. Before we head out tomorrow night, we have an exclusive sneak peek at an absolutely devastating, hard-as-hell, deep house remix of “Catching Plays.”

This official take comes via Bristol-based Will Clarke and it already has me reminiscing about my younger years, which often times were spent at any number of after hour venues. Utilizing the near horror-movie melody from the original, Clarke twists his interpretation up with a heavy, fuzzy bassline, modal harmonies, synthetic sonority, and effected shuffled hi-hats. Gone are the vocals from Pusha T and Starrah, but in a way that’s very appropriate for the style, and one that will probably find its way into a plethora of Halloween sets in a month and a half’s time.

If you want to catch Will Clarke live, we recommend heading over to his Facebook page to see where he’s at next. If you want to catch Destructo (and some choice friends) live, look no further. We have you covered, just below the YouTube player.

Austin Paul X SNDNGCHLLZ X Byrdipop – Binary [TMN PREMIERE]

Miami based Austin Paul, SNDNGCHLLZ, and Byrdipop have come together in a collaborative track that’s absolutely mesmerizing, and they pulled it off in less than 48 hours. What’s even more impressive is the fact that these three haven’t previously worked together. They were partnered up in a celebration of local music by the forthcoming lll Points Festival, which takes place October 7th – 9th, at Mana Wynwood.

This is the the third release on the festival’s 1st compilation, with one more release yet to come in the pack. “Binary,” as they’ve titled it, is a wonderfully sonic listening experience that pulls elements from RnB, ambient electronica, and pure experimental bliss. It only takes a few seconds to lock you in, and once it does, you’ll be wondering where you can get more.

Hopefully this admirable project from lll Points Festival helps inspire these budding artists to work together more, because, quite frankly, we need more.

There are still tickets available, so if you want to see acts like M83, Thievery Corporation, LCD Soundsystem, Method Man and Redman, Black Coffee, Earl Sweatshirt, and close to a hundred more, we highly recommend picking them up now.

Lotus Talks Red Rocks, “Eat the Light,” and Sour Beers from Crooked Stave [EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW]

Lotus is once again adorning legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater with their unparalleled sonic and visual experience, showcasing their brand new album, Eat The Light. If you’re not up to speed on their latest offering, it brings a fresh perspective that hasn’t been seen by fans yet. The entire album, all 10 tracks, feature vocals, something that this storied foursome has never done before.

Some of those vocalists will even make an appearance this weekend at Red Rocks, including Denver’s Gabe Otto of Pan Astral (“Eats the Light”) and Rachel Eisenstat of Raven Jane (“Suntan”) as well as LA’s Oriel Poole (“Anti-Gravity”). Additionally, fans will get treated to two knockout openers with El Ten Eleven and Tycho, both of which are favorites around TMN HQ.

Before you head out to buy tickets, take a moment to check out our conversation with Luke Miller, the man behind the guitars and keys for Lotus.

TMN: Thanks for taking some time to sit down with us, virtually. We’re excited to see your upcoming show at Red Rocks. Speaking of that show–you guys are no stranger to that venue. Does it lose it’s luster after having played there already? We have to imagine each time is just as incredible as the first.

Lotus: Red Rocks is always breathtaking and inspiring no matter how many times you go there. I think each time we play Red Rocks we get more comfortable with it. The first time is kind of intimidating since it’s such a historic place. But relaxing into the venue and vibe of the crowd there usually begets a better show rather than trying to stress and over-reach.

TMN: For those who’ve been to your shows in the past, what can they expect this go around?

Lotus: Well, last time at Red Rocks we did the Talking Heads De-Constructed. This time, we’re back to a regular Lotus show. So expect the typical Lotus stew of genres and all the jams that go with it. Plus a killer light show, we are rolling out new productions. And we’ve got a few other surprises in store.

TMN: For those who’ve never been, maybe those who are coming to see either Tycho or El Ten Eleven, give us a three word description of what they’re about to witness.

Lotus: Tycho is Serene Intricate Beauty. El Ten Eleven is Bass and Drums Post-Rock Bliss.

TMN: Speaking of the two openers, we couldn’t be any happier about it. The bill is top notch, through and through. How’d you end up choosing them?

Lotus: El Ten Eleven did a portion of our winter tour with us. Being instrumental, but more connected with the indie scene than the jam scene, we thought they were a good balance to Lotus. And Tycho, we are fans of his music. We covered Awake on our tour last year. So when the opportunity to do 2 consecutive weekends (Red Rocks and The Mann in Philadelphia) arose, we jumped at the chance.

TMN: The show will have a heavy sampling of the new album, we have to imagine. Something that stands out to us is the fact that this is the first album with vocals on every track. What brought you guys to that decision? Did it happen organically, or was it something you decided on from the get-go?

Lotus: Doing an all-vocal album was something we decided to do from the get-go. I felt like it was a thing we should go all-in on if we were going to do it. Part of the impetus came when we did the two Talking Heads De-Constructed shows in 2014. We had Gabe Otto doing the David Byrne vocals. And feeling the energy of the crowd singing along with the lyrics was very powerful. We wanted to bring more of that energy to the Lotus experience.

TMN: As expected, there are all kinds of influences across the entire listening experience that is Eat the Light. What’s your creative process like? Do the lyrics dictate instrumentals, or if you craft a jam and then look to write the lyrics after?

Lotus: I write the instrumental parts first and then write the lyrics. Some of the songs went through several complete changes of lyrics and even vocalists. With this album, it was definitely a learning process of leaving breathing room in the instrumentals so the vocals could ride on top. Simplifying things and taking out stuff was a big part of the process. Trimming the fat as much as possible.

TMN: This adds another layer onto an impressive body of work. Is it one of your favorites? Or, can you not answer that? You know, like a Dad can’t ever admit he has a favorite child.

Lotus: This is one of my favorites. We put more time into writing, mixing, and mastering on this one. Sometimes when we finish an album, the last thing I want to do is listen to it. But with Eat the Light I find it fun to listen to even after working on it for 3 years. And, I’m looking forward to expanding the songs live.

TMN: Before we let you go, we like to ask a few non-music questions, just for fun. Since you guys are partially Denver-based, and this is previewing the Red Rocks show, we’ll go with an all Colorado edition. First up – best breakfast burrito in the Mile High City?

Lotus: I’m not much of a breakfast burrito guy, but my favorite taco is the Carnitas Taco at Pinche.

TMN: Favorite brewery?

Lotus: Crooked Stave – gotta love the sours.

TMN: One thing you wish the rest of the country knew about Colorado:

Lotus: We’ve got a budding underground house music scene.

TMN: That’s all we have! See you Saturday!

[Event Preview] WOLV & Kannibalen Team Up For Huge ADE Show

ADE is a monumental time for the dance music industry. The conference is a place where legendary artists, managers, journalists and other officials come together to discuss and share their ideas, music and technology. It’s home to a whopping number of events, but one in particular sticks out to us this year. On October 19th, WOLV Records and Kannibalen Records are hosting a show that will be one for the record books.

Both labels are pillars in the bass community. WOLV by Dyro and Kannibalen by Black Tiger Sex Machine, are the perfect match for a show of this style and magnitude. There are plenty of places to rage at ADE, but this is the mecca. If you call yourself a basshead and you’re at ADE, but miss out on this one, are you really a basshead? Don’t worry though, the event won’t break your budget or anything. Only thing you may need to worry about breaking is your neck from headbanging too hard. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

In honor of the event, we gathered in the dojo to put together a playlist surrounding the show’s lineup. Artists on the billing include Dyro, Apashe, Loopers, Lektrique, Goja and a special guest. As much as we’d love to tell you who it is, you’ll have to be there to see. For more information regarding tickets, head over to the show’s ticket page.

[Dubstep] Dirtystack – Shotgun (Feat. Tima Dee)

Uprise Music just doesn’t stop releasing high-quality tunes from talented up and comers. Their latest single comes from the Texan beatsmith Dirtystack. “Shotgun” is a heavy one, but Tima Dee lighten things up with her magnificent vocal performance.

Dirtystack wasn’t a name that was familiar to us, but after hearing “Shotgun” he has quickly jumped high on our list of bass-peddlers. We’re not the only ones, as Excision has supported this record, and that’s saying something as he is one of the biggest names in dubstep. Not only that, but the support is through his signature Shambhala mix. Pretty high praise if you ask us. Dirtystack and Tima deserve it, as they put together an awesome record. Every little detail is on-point. This can be said for all of Dirtystacks tracks. Once you go through his Soundcloud, you’ll realize this dude is the not to be taken lightly. Some serious damage can be done if Dirtystack keeps up with these great releases. For now, we have “Shotgun,” so stream it and more importantly, buy it off Beatport.

[Dubstep] Fox Stevenson – Rocket

If you aren’t hopping on every Fox Stevenson release, you’re doing it wrong. There are a lot of good producers out there, but this cat is the real deal when it comes to being a well-rounded musician. And he just released a single with Disciple Recordings. Things don’t get much better than this match up.

As a part of the third volume of the label’s Disciple Alliance compilation, “Rocket” was released to the world on September 12th. Fox brings his top-notch song-writing skills to the table in conjunction with his supreme sound design talents. Right from the get-go, you’ll be into this one. There’s no waiting for something. It starts off enticing. It continues to get more and more enticing until you are headbanging like there’s no tomorrow. Some dubstep tracks are a bit harder to dance to, but this one has that groove that you look for in an exceptional dance record. Fox wouldn’t leave you hanging, as his shows are packed with a variety of individuals, from the loyal bassheads to the kandi kids. Give it a listen and head to the digital store of your choice for a copy. You won’t regret it.
