[Mix] RL Grime – Halloween V + Pharrell Intro

We could go into a long and contrived story about the origins of Halloween, the veil between the living and dead being it’s thinnest, or drone on about the absurd amount of epic parties that spread from coast-to-coast this weekend. Instead, though, we’re just gonna let you dig right into this one.

RL Grime is back with his 5th installment of his Halloween mix and it far exceeds our expectations, which is no easy task, given the pedigree of these annual treats. With an intro from Pharrell, a cameo from RL Stein, and a seamless collection of bass heavy tunes, it’s everything you need to carry you through into one of the best weekends of the year.

[House] Betoko – Crazy Jack [TMN Premiere]

Fridays and house music were meant for each other from the jump. Which is why any time we can round up a darkly excellent slice of after-hours club music, we get a little bit giddy. London based, Mexcian born producer Betoko has long been an artist with whom this writer has been enamored. That admiration was forged by many a late night, hearing countless Betoko tunes rinsed by some of the world’s most forward thinking house & techno DJ’s. Betoko’s amassed an enormous base of proper house-heads behind polished releases on the likes of Get Physical, Bunny Tiger, Off, Nurvous & Katermukke, and his latest original record aims to move another wave of listeners.

“Crazy Jack”, our track under study today, sees Betoko return to Hedonism Music as part of the excellent Amsterdam Essentials Vol. 1 compilation. An outstandingly groovy club burner fueled by concrete snares, murky bass swells and arpeggiated progressions, “Crazy Jack” is a testament to Betoko’s arcing range of emotive productions, and a tune we’re massively excited to be premiering in the process. Stream “Crazy Jack” above.

[Get Crunk] Friday Party Playlist (Vol 219)

It’s the weekend before Halloween. This means you’re going to (most likely) be out partying to celebrate the holiday. We want you to be safe, but also have as much fun as you can. Part of the fun is going to consist of good music; that’s where we come in. We went ahead and did some leg work, as we have done every Friday, and collected our favorite free downloads from the week for you to enjoy over your days off. This week we have some incredible records from a ton of our favorite artists including Xavier White, David Heartbreak, Black Tiger Sex Machine, Debroka and more. Although there aren’t specific Halloween themes, there are a few Halloween inspired tracks, including one from KSHMR called “The Spook Returns” that brings the holiday vibe out in house form. Enjoy all twelve records, and make sure to #danceirresponsibly.

[Indie/Folk] Kevin Morby – Beautiful Strangers

We don’t cover tunes like this too often here at TMN, so we’re excited to bring you something that may switch up the current TMN playlist you’ve been jamming to up until this point. We’d like to turn your attention to Texas-based indie folk artist Kevin Morby’s latest single, “Beautiful Strangers.”

“Beautiful Strangers” takes listeners to a place where Texas and Hawaii meet, with Bob Dylan-esque vocals as our guide. As we woke up this morning to this tune our souls were satiated, and there was nowhere to go but up. The tune fills you with a sense of calm– like everything’s going to be okay. This feeling starkly juxtaposes the context in which the single was released by Morby— written for and dedicated to the victims of the shooting that occurred this year in Orlando, Florida. We’d like to let Morby take the floor here with his comments regarding the release: “This release is dedicated to and written for all the people I have never met but have only read about. The innocent people who were out living their lives and one day, without warning, had them taken away from them. People who liked to laugh, dance, and love in the way that we all do, but can’t anymore. All those names and faces, all those beautiful strangers…”

Despite the tragic events of that fateful day this June, Morby reminds us that love is and always will be the cure for the atrocities that have taken the form of hate crimes all too frequently in our world. Morby reminds us with “Beautiful Strangers” that love will prevail. We have nothing but it for the victims of Orlando, for the victims of hate crimes all over the globe, and for all of humanity. Today we hope that you take a moment to remember the innocent lives lost at the Pulse Nightclub, and that you feel the overwhelming power of love that music, dance, and humans can bring to one another. There is no hate that love can’t conquer, and we thank Kevin Morby for reminding us of that today.

“If I die too young, and the gunmen come, I’m full of love.”

Dear David Enters The Dojo To Share Insight + Single [TMN Interview]

Over the past three years, Dear David has been establishing himself as a key figure in the house music arena. Now, he’s just released a track on Sony Music, and he’s got more coming. There’s a reason they jumped on “Fever” and you’re about to find out why.

Not only are we getting to share David’s hot new single with you, but the Swedish producer came through to the dojo to answer a few questions with us regarding “Fever,” as well as the overarching concept behind his music and his place in the music industry. For fans of his, they already see him as one of the premiere figures bridging the underground with the mainstream dance world. Succeeding at such a big endeavor doesn’t happen overnight, but David is well on his way to bringing the two worlds together. “Fever” is another step in the right direction.

TMN: Your debut single ‘I’ve Been Waiting’ was really ahead of its time as a commercial house track and everything you’ve released in 2016 has sounded somewhat detached from the popular norm. Has this been something you’ve looked to do on purpose with the Dear David project or has it been a coincidence?

DD: I’ve always been a sucker for this fusion between mainstream easy listening and underground music so I don’t believe it’s a coincidence. I am still developing my sound and I think that will never stop, you will always get something new with every release. At least that’s my vision 🙂

TMN: Your music also walks a fine line between accessible and underground house sounds. Is the commercial/underground divide one that you take seriously, or do you think artists need to think in wider terms these days?

DD: I can’t really say what would be best for other artist. But I need to have both to motivate me to do what I do!

TMN: How does ‘Fever’ sit compared to your first two singles and what can you tell us about the creative process behind this track?

DD: Oh, ‘Fever’ has a pretty long story behind it. We came up with the first demo of it in 2014 when I teamed up with two songwriters that I’ve been working with on other projects. Today I might have 20 complete different versions of Fever. The key is to never stop the chase. Just keep on producing till you get it right. Sometimes it takes two days, sometimes it takes two years.

TMN: You’ve had a lot of early praise from BBC broadcasting legend Pete Tong this year. What does the support of guys like this mean to artists in your position?

DD: The support from Pete Tong have been unreal and super important for my music. He reaches out to enormous amount of potential Dear David fans so I have a lot to thank him for.

TMN: What can you tell us about the ‘Yours Truly’ concept and how your music will be evolving in 2017?

DD: When I first came up with Dear David, I had it all figured out. My mixtapes would be named ”chapters”, I will have a concept named ”yours truly” and so on. Yours Truly will be the signum for Dear David in 2017. What the music will sound like 2017 is still a secret. All I can say is that I will try to take away the gap between underground and commercial house in my own way.

[Hip-Hop] Ash Riser – Smile, Wave & Laugh

Ash Riser is not one of those emcees who is just in it for the glory. He’s here to respect the art of rap in the long term, and has continuously put out dope records, including his latest “Smile, Wave & Laugh.”

The Los Angeles poet pushed out this free download earlier in the week. Produced by Tae Beast, “Smile, Laugh & Wave” is the admission of Ash’s attitude towards the entertainment industry dynamics that, more often than not, develop fake interests and two-faced individuals. Politics is everywhere, and the music industry is certainly not exempt, especially in the bright lights and sunshine of Southern California. That hasn’t stopped Ash, whose multi-faceted career has put him in front of thousands of industry figures in multiple domains. Through it all he’s kept his grind, his grit, and his artistry.

[Music Video] Hitchhiker – Ding Dong

It’s not everyday you get to hear a song by an intergalactic producer. The artist from Korea, who goes by the name of Hitchhiker, released a music video to “Ding Dong” which was featured in the Netflix show XOXO. We’ve seen some bizarre music videos, but this one by far takes the cake.

The video shows Hitchhiker, who is wearing his usual chrome silver jumpsuit outfit, dancing and DJing everywhere in different parts of Korea. The colorful visuals and forced CGI definitely give the tune a unique graphic approach. Hitchhiker is able to take random elements like alien noises, an Egyptian theme, and a doorbell sound and bring them together into one giant entertaining dance track.

Premiered on 88rising, the “Ding Dong” music video is something that will stick in your head for a good period of time. Check out the video below and let us know what you think!

[Trap] LEViT∆TE. – Mecca 002

LEViT∆TE. is back at it with the second episode of his album unveiling. Mecca is due out in full on November 7th, but during the weeks prior we get our hands on a few new singles. Last week episode one came out, so if you missed that, be sure to check it after you run through the current episode below.

The next batch of three tracks may even be more impressive than the first, which is hard to top. LEViT∆TE. doesn’t hold back any time he gets into the studio. Not only is he a unique creator, but his technical abilities when it comes to producing are just insane. How he manages to get things sounding so nasty, yet so clean is far beyond me. Just take the first track “RED” as an example. Every sound feels so saturated, giving it that exciting edge that is almost exclusive to his music, yet it’s not abrasive in the slightest for this type of music.

With “Run” you get that same edge, but it is applied to a more twerk-friendly composition. Lastly, we have “Act 2” featuring Zuse. This two part trap heater is more than a single, it’s a journey within itself. As it was with episode one, all tracks from this group are currently available for free through the individual players.

[Future] Said The Sky Drops Collabs With 3lau, Seven Lions x Illenium

From the first time I heard Said The Sky, I was instantly in love. His work was beyond incredible, and I needed more. Since then, he’s released plenty of tunes to satisfy my desire. His latest tunes are conjuring up those same feelings to many new listeners. Why? Because they’re some of the biggest collaborations an up and comer can partake in.

Said The Sky’s most recent collaboration was with the one and only 3lau on “Fire” that also features NÉONHÈART. Although Soundcloud only has a preview of the emotive tune, that’s all you need to feel just how powerfully moving this record is.

Before this immense single dropped, Said The Sky released “Rush Over Me” with our current artist of the month Seven Lions, as well as one of our personal favorites, Illenium. “Rush Over Me” quickly became a huge hit, garnering over one million streams on Soundcloud alone. Said The Sky wasn’t the only one to make these two records, but every time he gets his hands on a project, something special happens. If you’re not on board already, now is the time to hop on.

[Music Video] Christine – Drama feat. T La Rock (Official Video)

Music and recap videos have steadily becoming stale in the dance music arena. Despite that, French artist Christine’s music video is anything but stale. The fresh feature for the single “Drama” featuring rap veteran T La Rock is both electrifying and nostalgic.

Although the video takes influenced from classic cop/detective films, the stylized tone of the video is completely new age. The mix goes nicely together, especially in conjunction with the melding of musical tastes, both old and new. We get a bit of the 80’s hip-hop vibe twisted in with the French electro sound. While Christine’s bustling beats are grooving along, your eyes get to enjoy a dancing detective whose moves are quite infectious. You may not bust out some break dance moves, but you surely will have the urge.

[Electronic Soul] Zuma – Ruby (ft. Lenis Kim & YNGDRGN)

What do you get when you combine the best aspects of dancehall, electronic music, and R&B? There’s no punchline (not that it was a joke in the first place), but Zuma‘s newest song fits that description exactly. Enlisting the vocals of Lenis Kim and YNGDRGN, Zuma has crafted an incredibly smooth and wavy original that’s primed and ready for your evening enjoyment. From Lenis’ sultry delivery to YNGDRGN’s undeniable sense of swagger, every element of “Ruby” is an essential contribution.

Zuma has no problem sharing the spotlight with his promising features, and he’s scaled back on his normal complexities in his production to allow for these two to do their thing to the fullest. The whole tone of this song is erupting with sensuality, and we can pretty much guarantee it’ll find its own special place in your late night playlists. If that sort of thing isn’t on the to-do list and you’re just looking to chill, “Ruby” is still a great listen for that too. Give it a spin tonight, and don’t miss out on the free download HERE.

[Denver Event Preview/Ticket Giveaway] TMN Presents: Hayden James – Larimer Lounge – 10/29

In a little under three years, Australian wunderkind producer Hayden James has ushered in an entire new wave of listeners into the electronic music arena. When we first heard Hayden James‘ debut single “Permission to Love” on tastemaking imprint Future Classic three years ago, we had a feeling the up ‘n comer was onto something special. After a string of incredibly well received releases including an excellent self-titled EP, and two of the more viral singles we’ve seen in years in “Something About You” & “Just A Lover”, Hayden James is poised to tackle yet another lengthy live tour, and we couldn’t be more excited to help bring his house-leaning, groove-driven sound to Denver this Saturday at the Larimer Lounge.

No stranger to the halls of TMN, including an excellent campaign as our ‘Resident Artist of the Month’ back in September of 2015, Hayden James’ live show is even more consuming than his polished productions, which is why we want to give our readers a chance to come join in on the fun. [Indie Dance] Sweater Beats – Did You Wrong feat. MAX

Sweater Beats has got a lot going on. Tomorrow he is kicking off the debut of his live tour, For The Cold, and his upcoming EP of the same name is going to drop in the near future. Today, however, we get a sneak peak into his project with his single “Did You Wrong” featuring MAX.

“Did You Wrong” is a roller coaster of feelings that’s equal parts fun and emotional. Kicking off his EP unveiling with this song was a great choice, as it has us and number of his fans dying in anticipation for what is to come. Instead of waiting for the full release date, you can simply attend one of his shows as he will surely be playing out these records live, literally. For The Cold, in tour and song form, will not be something you want to miss out on. Dates, locations and ticketing information can be found at the Sweater Beats website. [Electronic] White Cliffs feat. Hugh EP – Come Here

PRMD Music has just started something really cool with their imprint. Recently the independent label started their PRMD DSCVR, a new initiative that will showcase some of the best, and most creative up and coming artists. They’re already on their second release with White Cliffs collaboration with Hugh EP on “Come Here.”

If all the parties involved were going for innovation, they certainly got it right with this original. No specific genre comes to mind when you’re listening to it. It’s just one of those tracks that is just good music, plain and simple. “Come Here” is a cool, crisp production that doesn’t get too wild or crazy. It plays to its tasteful sensibilities, making it an incredibly memorable track that you don’t want to just listen to once, or twice; rather, you’ll be coming back again and again to this one, replaying it over. White Cliffs and Hugh EP really did something special here.

[Future] Sweater Beats – Did You Wrong (Feat. Max)

With a very extensive winter tour gearing up this week and a plethora of new tunes released this year, Sweater Beats is giving fans plenty of reasons to turn out and catch him this season. Antonio Cuna, who made his big splash in the internet community with a remix to Flume’s “Drop the Game” in 2014, has built a fairly large international fan base in the years since.

The LA based producer expanded his skill set from unique remixes and edits to original works of his own, leading to a substantial and consistent internet buzz. As if we needed another reason to cover his budding career, Sweater Beats just released an incredible new track with vocalist Max titled “Did You Wrong”. The song blends the fresh and talented crooning of Max with the ingredients that we have come to expect from one of our favorite technically savvy producers.

Listeners will get ample opportunities to catch some of the aesthetic visionary in person, as he embarks on a 31-stop tour beginning this Thursday in San Francisco. As an added bonus, Cuna will be revealing a live set during the “For the Cold” tour, replacing the DJ sets of his previous performances. Catch Sweater Beats in your city this winter here, and stay up to date on his latest releases over at Soundcloud.

David Starfire – Shock (feat. Ragga Twins) [TMN Premiere]

David Starfire is one of the most distinguishable producers in bass music right now. His out-of-the-box, eclectic style is setting him apart from the rest of the glitch game. Today, he’s releasing his Lapis album, but we get to premiere his Ragga Twins collaboration “Shock” to you first!

The blending of genres is not new to David. With “Shock” he fuses twerk, hip-hop and eastern sounds with his own unique bass brand. “Shock” is all over the place, in a good way, as its tones and textures bounce back and forth to give the listener an experience that is anything but boring. Ragga Twins add their flavor to the mix, taking the song up a notch as they always do. How David manages to blend all these styles together so seamlessly is beyond us, but we’re glad he is able to bring the world such fresh tunes. Seven Lions talks touring, Opeth, and Starry Night Stout [TMN EXCLUSIVE]

11

We took a trip down memory lane to see just how long we’ve been covering the larger-than-life basslines and heavenly, melodic synths crafted by Jeff Montalvo, better known as Seven Lions. It’s been over four years since he first popped up on our radar, and since then, he’s graced the pages of our site time and time again.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who’s kept tabs on his impressive list of successes over the years, from stellar releases, to unforgettable festival performances. His brand presence has become a household commodity, with many eagerly expecting to catch his sets, whether it be at their favorite club, or the most sought-after festival.

As we continue our Residency with Jeff, we decided it would be a good time to catch back up with him after all these years.

TMN: First off, thank you for coming onboard as our Resident Artist for the month of October. As long time fans, it’s an absolute pleasure to have you. It’s also been three years since we last interviewed you, so it’s great to catch up. Let’s start things off by talking about your most recent release, “Rush Over Me” which you worked on with Illenium and Said the Sky – two Colorado boys. How did this collaboration come to be?

SL: Actually, I had met Trevor in Denver a long time ago when he gave me a flashdrive. The funny thing is – I get those a lot, but a lot of times I don’t have the time to actually listen to them. With Trevor’s, I actually did and it was really good music.

I hit them up and was like, “Hey, I need some fresh ears on this. Do you guys want to collab on this?” Then they worked on it, then I worked on it, then they worked on it.

TMN: Did you work on this one remotely? Or did you guys all get together? We’re always curious what the process from three separate artists looks like.

SL: All remote. That’s how I work anyways. That way I can sit in the studio and just focus. I don’t like talking to people when I’m working on music. I’ve never actually collaborate with anyone else sitting in front of the computer or anything.

TMN: You’re also in the midst of a rather large our right now, which goes all the way into December. What can fans expect from this tour?

SL: Definitely the fact that we’re bringing our own production. It’s a huge, huge deal for us. I’ve never got to build my own stage until now. So, we built our stage and we’ve been focusing on visual content for it. A lot of people have seen me at festivals and know the style that we have visually, and we work really hard on that. This is that amplified quite a bit.

And – I’ll be playing a lot of new music – more originals than usual too. And, a lot of stuff that’s not out and won’t be for a long time.

img_7311

TMN: Did you play a heavy role in the actual design and creation of the stage? Is it a lot of your personal ideas, or did you rely on someone who’s done it professionally?

SL: Me and the guy who runs visuals came up with the concept and we brought it to a bunch of different design companies. Then, we focused on the one we liked the best.

TMN: We’re excited to see it!

SL: The overall concept changed quite a bit from my idea then to what it is now. The shapes are essentially the same but the way we’re doing projection is a lot different than what I had originally envisioned. But, I think it really worked out.

TMN: You also have a charitable element to these shows, which we’re thrilled to hear about. You’re supporting the mission of Fuck Cancer, a charity that helps with cancer prevention, early detection, and emotional support. What made you decide to work with this organization in specific?

SL: Actually, my manager hit me up and had the idea and I thought it was a really good idea. It seems like everyone I know has known someone who has had cancer and dealt with that. I think it’s something that everyone experiences. It’s hard to go through life and not be affected by cancer in some way, whether it’s a family member or friend.

TMN: Your tourmates, Pegboard Nerds, for this show have also supported that charity in the past. They’re two of the nicest dudes we’ve ever met. How did you go about selecting them and the other acts to support you?

SL: They’re awesome guys. We were thinking about who would amp up the night really well and add to the overall thing we were going for. We wanted someone who was not quite known, which was Unlike Pluto, and an act that was a little more well known to add to the night.

TMN: You’ve been a mainstay in the bass community for quite some time. How do you feel like you’ve evolved over the years?

SL: That’s tough. I guess my sets have gotten a lot more focused and a lot more structured. As far as producing music, I feel like I’m always going off in different directions. I don’t feel like there’s been one straight-up evolution. The last EP had a lot of acoustic elements and a lot of guitar, so I feel like the next EP won’t be focused on that. It’s hard to say “evolution,” though. It’s more like what I’m feeling at the moment.

TMN: Can you talk about the guitar work a little more? Did you love for metal play a roll in influencing that?

SL: Definitely. The track “The Journey” is inspired by Viking metal. “Leaving Earth” is very heavily influenced by Opeth. It’s in 3/4 timing and it’s totally in homage to them.

TMN: Conversely, how do you feel the bass scene has evolved over the years? Do you feel like the scene as become more or less receptive?

SL: I feel like it’s kind of becoming a cool kids scene, which I don’t like. But, I feel like all of electronic music has that element, when it wasn’t like that before – “everyone is welcome. No one is too cool for school.” The whole “too cool” clique-y thing is a little disheartening.

But, I think there’s a lot of cool music coming out. There’s also a lot of music coming out that sounds exactly like everything else. I don’t know. I think the interesting music coming out is getting focused on, which is cool. It is what it is.

TMN: You always seem like a very drama-free dude. What are your thoughts industry drama and the near grocery store checkout stand media that surrounds it?

SL: Within electronic music? I think it’s a joke. I haven’t seen it so much lately, but the whole “people fighting on twitter,” is sad. At the same time, I can’t be too mad because it’s entertaining, and you’re going to have people who want to watch shitty reality TV, or people who want to watch cool shit like Game of Thrones. To each their own.

I’m not mad about it. I just think it’s kind of silly. And, it’s totally there to sell shit. People fighting on Twitter are creating a buzz. When you’re an artist and people know you more for the shit you talk online than the music you’ve put out in the last five years, it’s not a good thing. But, it is what it is. Who cares?

TMN: Looking past this tour, what does 2017 look like for you as an artist?

SL: Probably just a lot of festivals and new music. Leading up to this tour, I spent a lot of time just finishing up songs that I really wanted to play on the tour. So, I have a lot of unreleased stuff I’m going to be putting out next year. A lot more shows, too. Some people would want to slow down after a bus tour, but after moving to Seattle, I feel really reenergized living up there. So, I’m down to be on the road now. And my wife travels with me, which makes it easy.

TMN: As you may remember from our first interview, we always like to shift things up at the end and ask some random questions. First up: name your favorite brewery in America and your favorite beer at said brewery.

SL: Island Brew Co and the Starry Night Stout. I think that’s my favorite.

TMN: The perfect snack to accompany a delicious craft brew?

SL: Aged Gouda. Really, really old Gouda.

TMN: If you could put together a bill of all metal artists – which four would you choose for a one-night, all-out, head-banging extravaganza?

SL: Definitely Opeth headlining. Amon Amarth would be sick to see. Cradle of Filth. The fourth would probably be Ensiferum.

TMN: Last one. We’re asking this because we’re metal heads ourselves. What do you say to people when they say “Metal just gives me a headache. How do you listen to that noise?”

SL: Ohhhhhh. I would walk away. I don’t know anyone like that, and if I did, I wouldn’t know them for very long.

[Multi-Genre] Most Addictive Drops Reboot Compilation

Most Addictive kills it in every aspect, whether it’s their label, blog or Youtube channel. We could go into why, but instead we’re going to focus on their most recent endeavor, the Reboot compilation.

Bassheads gather ’round, as MA collected six singles from some of the most solid up and coming producers in the game. Brig starts things off with one of the best songs of the project with “Flat,” which is anything but. Chime comes in hot with “Tundra” a video-game influenced dub record that is an absolute smash. “Amazon” by Guillotine comes in with a more modern dubstep original that keeps up the compilations energy, and heavy low frequencies.

Prismatic kicks us into a different direction with his hybrid tune “Ambush” whose name fits its attitude. Rob Gasser keeps us on our toes with his light-hearted drum & bass tune “Adrenaline.” The last song, “Departure,” is the only collaboration on Reboot, coming from Zetta and Wavemode. They bring the sound back to the contemporary area of dub that has been making a huge comeback in the last several months. Reboot is currently available on iTunes for purchase. It is well worth the money. Don’t just stream it, buy it!

[Trap] SKULS – Terminal EP

Just a couple weeks ago, SKULS released a two track EP with a special announcement. The announcement turned out to be that the duo was going to release an even bigger EP soon. Today, it’s come.

SKULS’ Terminal EP marks a special point in the career of the Bay Area duo, who have now relocated to Los Angeles. Terminal was released with four singles through Terrorhythm Recordings, and is currently available on digital stores. SKULS keeps up the heat without letting up; not one song on this EP is lacking in any way. Within the songs, we get a glimpse into the lives of SKULS, who go so far as sampling voicemail from their journey from Northern California to LA. SKULS signature style is displayed in full, with “Lotusville” in particular being an exceptional track off the record. This is just the beginning. There’s a lot more coming from SKULS. Stay tuned.

[Electronic] Jai Wolf – Like It’s Over (feat. MNDR)

The rise of Jai Wolf continues. His debut EP, Kindred Spirits, has finally been announced, and today marks the first sampling of this highly anticipated project with “Like It’s Over”. The Moving Castle and Foreign Family Collective member truly has fine-tuned his sound into a genuine and organic exploration of emotive lyrics delivered by impressive features and a penchant for catharsis that is masterfully built within his ethereal production. MNDR provides a resounding vigor that expertly complements the thrilling instrumentation and elevates the song to a completely new level while, at the same time. showcasing her impressive range. Needless to say, if you weren’t planning on getting emotional any time soon, that’s probably about to change.

Jai Wolf creates music that gives you hope. He’s done it previously, and he’ll continue to do it with Kindred Spirits. Even as we navigate through difficult times, songs such as “Like It’s Over” provide us with an opportunity for an unbridled feeling that everything truly can be alright, which is tough to come by some days. Thank you for that, Jai Wolf.

[Electronic Soul] SRNO – Stay Sane (ft. Naaz)

“Stay Sane” is the latest release from Majestic Casual, and it perfectly encapsulates the type of material we’ve grown to know and enjoy from the label. SRNO continues his streak of notable releases with this appetizing balance of R&B and electronic influence that tactfully shares the spotlight with Naaz‘s magnificent voice. It’s the sort of song that pairs wonderfully with brisk fall weather, and watching the leaves fall while the seasons shift just makes sense while it’s playing. All of you Galimatias and Alina Baraz fans out there will definitely resonate with this one, as the piano-centric production bolsters Naaz’s vocals into an enticing and lush tune that honestly wouldn’t feel out of place if it was on Urban Flora. Find yourself some time on a slow evening to enjoy “Stay Sane” to the fullest.

[Indie Electronic] The Odds x Bronze Whale – Best

It goes without saying that a new tune from Bronze Whale is cause for excitement. Following up the highly enjoyable “Hear Me” comes a collaboration with another distinct and captivating vocalist looking to kick off his musical career on an undisputed high note. The Odds may be new to SoundCloud, but his performance on “Best” suggests anything but.

A sense of vulnerability weaves throughout the song among every single element. From The Odds’ yearning and earnest voice and lyrics to Bronze Whale’s singular formulation of electronic, indie, and pop music, this song is a provocative listen into what to expect from Bronze Whale’s upcoming EP and future releases from The Odds. After their previous work with Khai, it isn’t surprising in any way that Bronze Whale knows how to find and work extremely well with fantastic vocalists. You’ll definitely be catching a few feelings listening to this one. Don’t miss out on the free download.

Feder feat. Alex Aiono – Lordly (Wielki Remix) [TMN Premiere]

Paris’ own Wielki just dropped a huge one. Like, literally it’s just coming to the world now through this premiere. It’s always a privilege to partner up with an amazing talent, pushing a quality record. Wielki is accustomed to creating great work, but the official remix of “Lordly” by Feder is a real treat.

The seven minute remix is as good as it is lengthy. There is no moment when you lose the feeling of entertainment it brings you from the very start. It’s deep, driving grooves are inescapably infectious, making this one especially potent in a club atmosphere. Wielki manages to recycle several parts of the original, while also keeping the song fresh from its first counterpart. “Lordly” goes from a dark, poppy sensation to a thrilling techno delicacy.

Kidswaste Releases Point Point Remix & Announces “Spleen EP” [TMN Exclusive Interview]

kidswaste

If feel-good music is your thing, Kidswaste definitely got you covered. This beautiful remix of French production group Point Point‘s “Au Revoir” will put you through a dreamy roller coaster ride. The fellow French producer incorporated guitar and brass melodies to an already chilled-out tune, and brought the feels with its jazzy melody.

On top of the remix, Kidswaste also announced the release of Spleen, which is a 5-track EP that features some of the best up-and-coming vocalists in the scene. We actually got a chance to sit down with Kidswaste to chat about this awesome project that he prides himself in working on. Check out the tracklist below and the interview after the jump!

Spleen EP Tracklist
1. More Colors (feat. Chelsea Cutler)
2. Time
3. Wild (feat. Khai)
4. Alone
5. Friends (feat. TRACE)

TMN: Tell us about the idea behind this EP. Where did you draw inspirations from?

Writing this EP felt like a journey in itself. Originally, the EP was going to be called Circle of Sounds which was the idea of “kidswasting” different genres, varying from trap to jazz. I held this idea for the longest time and while I felt like it could be cool, the more I worked on it the less it felt like I was truly representing myself. I lost a ton of projects, had to restart… Eventually, my style kind of evolved and took me somewhere else, which is the reason why I started Spleen. It seemed easier to restart from scratch.

TMN: We are big fans of the vocalists you’ve worked with on this EP. Can you tell us about them, and what fans can expect from the project?

I feel grateful to have worked with some vocalists that I really respect and consider friends like Chelsea Cutler, Khai and Trace. They’re all putting out really genuine and honest music in their own lanes, and I really want to thank them all for being a part of this. They’ve helped me bring my ideas to life and the end result is this piece of art which is probably the best project I’ve ever been a part of. I achieved everything I wanted and managed to make something new and meaningful. This is what I always wanted Kidswaste to be and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

TMN: Spleen, is commonly known as a human organ – grotesque and undesirable. Is there a special meaning to it being the title of the EP?

The name “Spleen” comes from French literature. Invented and popularized by the poet Charles Baudelaire, the “spleen” is a state of pensive sadness and melancholy. The title here allows me to pay respect to French culture and it feels really reflective of the themes in the EP.

TMN: Last but not least, congrats on the new Point Point remix! We’re definitely a huge fan. Can you tell us a little bit about how the remix came about?

Well, Point Point hit me up a couple of weeks ago asking me if I wanted to remix a track from their Family Portrait EP. I’m a huge fan of theirs, I obviously said yes and immediately picked ‘Au Revoir’. I tried to keep the essence of the original song, and wrote a sort of sad electronic ballad. It turned out really well, I’m very happy with the result.

[House] Punctual – Fix

Following a debut single that we still haven’t been able to shake, Bristol production duo Punctual return today with the accompanying B-Side. At nearly 10 minutes, “Fix” solidifies the promise heard on “Eva,” expanding on their gorgeously expressive take on house music. A simple piano chord progression kicks off the track and persists through out changing form with the building elements around it. Just as you start getting lost in the atmosphere, the percussion filters in around the 2 minute mark providing an irresistible groove.

While the first 4 minutes would make a strong track on their own, it’s the second half that sets Punctual apart. As the percussion is stripped back, vocals emerge that recall classic house music in a bridge that beautifully builds back into the song’s addicting repetition. Punctual feel like a breathe of fresh air in the crowd of fad-influenced electronic producers–standing out without sacrificing accessibility or simplicity. We’re excited to see what they come up next but the “Eva”/”Fix” EP should hold us over for quite some time–you can grab it here.

[House] Eric Sharp ft. Zhao – The Thirst

Falling somewhere in between a house lover’s delicious dream come true and a 80s pop enthusiast’s party-starting secret weapon, “The Thirst” nestles in between generations of music lovers, giving an experience that says “age is but a number. Let’s fuckin’ dance!”

We wouldn’t expect much less from LA-based Eric Sharp, though, as he’s continually impressed us with previous vocal-driven tunes. At times, they showcase a breadth of musical tastes, casually flirting with the experimental side of music. Other times, they fuse house and pop together seamlessly, providing a sound worthy of the masses. This release grabbed our attention immidiately, leading us to the groovy, live-recorded bassline and and guitar work, much like a cartoon bear being by the wafting scent of a freshly made pie.

Part of the intrigue of this track, in particular, is the addition of multi-instrumentalist Zhao, who not only brings live instrumentation, but his alluring voice, as well. After crafting this hip-shaker, they gave it a few test runs out and about in the City of Angels. As you could guess, the reception was on-point, hence the release with Liftoff Records.

[Trap] Far East Movement – F-VR Feat. Candice Pillay & No Riddim

Far East Movement album? Yep, IDENTITY is coming. Some tracks are already public, including the group’s collaboration with Candice Pillay and No Riddim on “F-VR.”

“F-VR” is a soft, vibey tune that closely abides by the styles of pop and trap. You can hear influences from both groups, and Candice’s vocal performance is one you won’t be forgetting any time soon. Don’t be surprised if this one makes its way up the charts and takes over the radio. It’s got that type of potential, and Far East Movement aren’t strangers to a big hit. After listening through this one, we’re excited to hear what else the album has on it. IDENTITY is out now through some digital stores, however iTunes will be live tomorrow with the full purchasable project!

[Multi-Genre] UFO! Drops Choppa Dunks & Holly Collabs For New Series

One of the best kept secrets in dance music is UFO!. The San Francisco beatsmith abides by good music and good music only. Sure, he’s got a cool brand going, but he is sticking to his guns as one of the best veterans in the game.

Recently, he’s started unveiling his four part collaboration series. The tracks don’t have names, but they don’t really need them; they are just that good. Part one started with Choppa Dunks, and part two just came out with the Portugal producer Holly. Both tracks are absolutely savage, although they differ in style. With Choppa’s collab, we get a more of a jungle/reggae vibe that brings an obscene amount of energy. With Holly, we get a more of a bass heavy trap tune, although it doesn’t limit itself to that genre. It bounces all over the place, making it one powerful and dynamic single. Two more collaborations are coming, one next week and the last coming from G-Buck on November 1st. Get ready.

[Video] Black Marble – Woods

Perhaps the singular album in the last five years with the most profound impact on this writer’s favored aural aesthetics came in the form of Black Marble‘s 2013 dark-wave meets lo-fi pop opus, A Different Arrangement. Chris Stewart’s subtle manipulation of simple pop structuring, goth-punk undertones, reverb-entombed incantations and a foundation of stripped down, new-wave drum kits struck an internal chord so deep, that it all at once ushered in a frame shift in taste moving forward, and a simultaneous return back to my youth punk, consumer days. And so (and forgive me for the long-winded intro), after a bit of a dormant writing state and with the recent release of the second Black Marble long-player, It’s Immaterial out now on Ghostly, I’ve been roused to return to covering music that truly moves my personal soul.

One of the first three singles to be released from It’s Immaterial, “Woods” (along with the stellar “Iron Lung” & “Frisk”) has just brandished its visual accompaniment from director Theo Sixou, who also directed Black Marble’s 2013 video for “A Great Design”; and it quite wonderfully enhances its haunting infrastructure. It’s darkly verdant backdrop and visual themes tie in fluently with “Woods”‘ longing nature, twisting up its viewer in the process. Black Marble is currently a few dates into a mini-tour supporting It’s Immaterial, and we would highly advise our wise readers to check them out in the flesh if they’re coming to a city near you. Until then, enjoy the official music video for “Woods” below.

[Electronic] Jon Santana – Falling Down (feat. John Davis)

This artist is relatively new to me and already I’m finding myself coming back again and again to some of his songs. Jon Santana’s sound is a paradox that’s been locked in my mind. It’s chilled-out but a little catchy, classic sounding but still pushing the edge. The latest release doesn’t disappoint and it’s the second song from his forthcoming EP. Jon simplifies things and picks up the mood compared to the project’s first single. They are both worth checking out and I’m looking forward to hearing more.

[Electronic/Pop] Goldroom – Lying to You (RAC Mix)

Josh Legg’s bedroom recording project turned full-fledged live troupe, Goldroom, has been a mainstay for years here at TMN. His brand of syrupy-slick, dancefloor-directed electro-pop has captured the hearts (and ears for that matter) of listeners from a plethora of  genres. Whether it’s the indie archetypes, bubblegum pop consumers, or underground dance fans; Goldroom’s sounds has a resonation that few “dance” acts could dream of achieving. No doubt part of that luster and allure comes from the seemingly endless malleability of a Goldroom tune. Legg’s polished singles can be flipped, chopped and beefed up in so many different directions; and they have been as well. On the heels of a debut long player, West of the West, and accompanying national tour with Autograf (tour dates are listed below), Goldroom’s “Lying To You” has been scooped up by another one of our favorite producers, Andre Allen Anjos -better known to the world simply as RAC.

With similar yet opposing structural aesthetics, RAC remains true to the essence of Goldroom’s original recording, but whereas its counterpart is a slow-burning slice of 80’s nostalgia with a contemporary vocal, Anjos minimalizes his approach even further using a rolling synth punch and flitty pad work to make his mark. We’re big fans of both, but a fresh coat of RAC wax on a tune always stokes our fancy. Listen to RAC’s remix above, and check out the dates for Autograf & Goldroom’s tour below.

[Trap] LEViT∆TE. – Mecca 001

Over the course of the next few weeks, LEViT∆TE. will be teasing fans with episodes of his full length album Mecca. You might be wondering what exactly an episode is, but basically the Seattle producer will be dropping three tracks together each week for four weeks.

This week’s batch is the first. In kicking off the launch of Mecca, LEViT∆TE. starts out with “Check It,” a dark plunge into what the rest of the album will bring. “Jungle” comes next with a sound that I have yet to hear before; at least, not at this level of quality. The third single in this episode of Mecca is “Terrible Things” feature Macntaj. The hybrid trap single is more what fans of LEViT∆TE. have been used to, but he still manages to take his signature a step further. Auckland’s own SACHI, nominated for this year’s Best Breakthrough Act for the New Zealand Music Awards, have an official remix for courtship.‘s “Stop For Nothing.” Remixes for the single are being released one by one, and SACHI’s is next.

With their interpretation, the duo bring a unique style of future to the table that heavily takes from jersey club. The result is an immensely fun tune that makes for good listening no matter where you find yourself. Body Language’s take on “Stop For Nothing” was a great club rendition, but we think this one may just be a bit more exciting and special. [Electronic] Kllo – Bolide (Lone Remix)

Australian duo Kllo have been on our radar ever since the release of their gorgeous 2014 debut, Cusp, which found them nestled squarely between cozy R&B and dance music. After spending much of 2015 touring behind that successful project, they returned this year with the Well Worn EP. Their latest work saw the vocalist/production team of Chloe Kaul and Simon Lam further refine their sound delving deeper into various electronic influences. Of the 5 tracks, “Bolide” has resonated the most with fans and for good reason. With a pulsing bass line, subtly-crafted percussion and gliding vocals, it’s a track that envelopes the listener with emotion.

As they continue building momentum, Kllo have commissioned legendary UK producer Lone to take on “Bolide” with phenomenal results. The original’s ongoing vocal chop feeds perfectly into Lone’s distinctive blend of hip-hop and house stylings. While the remix is similarly atmospheric, it employs furious percussion and layered pads–taking it from downtempo to club-ready without sacrificing the most enticing elements.

Give this one a listen above and make sure to check out the Well Worn EP if you haven’t yet. Kllo are currently on the road touring with Rufus Du Sol and NAO–check out dates after the jump!

[Multi-Genre] Bad Royale – Treasures From Tomorrow EP

Bad Royale kick ass. I could leave the post solely with that sentence and let the Treasures From Tomorrow EP speak for itself. Several days ago, Good Enuff dropped this three track EP on the world, and the world wasn’t ready.

Every time Bad Royale releases something, it’s more than dope. Treasures From Tomorrow keeps up their their streak without wavering. As usual, they have a few collaborators on the project; this time around being Mark Hardy, Brukout, and Future Fambo. Bad Royale’s caribbean bass style is expressed in full, as usual, but with this project they integrate new sounds and flavors that even their oldest of fans will enjoy. Throughout the project, Bad Royale move between genres, not only between songs, but within them. It’s one fun ride that you can stream/purchase or download for free. Whatever you choose, enjoy it!

[Hip-Hop] Stööki Sound – My G’s feat. Jelacee

October is a big month for Stööki Sound, and that may even be an understatement. Then, North America gets a taste of their sound as they embark on their tour.

Before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s focus in on their lead single “My G’s.” America better be ready for some grime, because this is one killer record that will be a massive treat live. It’s more rap than dance, but the beat is a savage slap that will no doubt get crowds moving. The sound design is incredible, laying the background for Jelacee to bring the heat that so many of us are going to want to hear more of in the future. We just might on the rest of this EP. [House] Roby – Waterfalls (Dear David Remix)

If a song gets premiered by Pete Tong on BBC Radio One, chances are its good. Dear David had that opportunity with his remix of Roby’s “Waterfalls” and we have to say, it is indeed a great record.

This isn’t Dear David’s first official remix, and it probably won’t be his last. You know a song’s good when it passes the time quickly, without you realizing just how much time you spent. David’s tune comes in just under six and a half minutes, but those minutes fly by thanks to his infectious grooves and intoxicating basslines. His Soundcloud lists this tracks as “truly house” and we’d have to agree. Not only does it pay homage to classic sounds, it brings new flash and flare to the genre to create something completely memorable.

Aircrafting – Temecula [TMN VIDEO PREMIERE]

Originally crafted as a DIY recording project between Jon Tehel and Daniel Jacobs, Aircrafting has since grown into a full, five-piece band with the addition of Nicole Lawrence, Pat Floyd, and Lee Bones. Just a few weeks ago, this Brooklyn-based group released their first LP together, with “Temecula” being showcased as the 2nd single from the collection.

Dreamers was self-produced and tracked live to 1/4″ tape in their Brooklyn studio in just two days. We’ve had a chance to delve into the recording as a whole, which was released by Sinking Spaceships Recordings. While we’re certainly enjoying its place in our rotation, today is less about the album as a whole, and more about the single and this newly released music video. Set to the backdrop of lazy guitar strums and an woeful lead riff, “Temecula” brings a beautifully somber soundscape. It’s Americana at its finest, calling on memories of long, late-night drives, dusty dive bars, and greasy spoon diners that seemingly dot every exit along our country’s highways.

The accompanying video pairs perfectly with the sorrowful musical vibes, showing a painful trip to spread a loved ones ashes. The combination will most assuredly tug on your heart strings, so make sure you’re in the proper frame of mind to watch. After all, we wouldn’t want you shedding some tears in front of your co-workers.

Mat Hunsley – Fires [TMN PREMIERE]

The changing of the season seemingly brings us to different musical selections, sometimes entirely intentional, and other times purely coincidental. The falling of the leaves pushes away the carefree attitude carried around the summer months, welcoming in more complex works, both lyrically and musically. Today brings an example of a pensive piece perfect for the greying skies and chilly weather, and it’s brought to you by a brand new artist, Mat Hunsely.

“Fires” is the lead single from this young man’s debut EP, To Being Free, which is already available to pre-order from iTunes. Showcasing his ability to harness personal experiences for the sake of storytelling, Hunsely breathes life into each and every word, skillfully displaying his folk-centric songwriting abilities and encapsulating vocal cadence. Set to the backdrop of only a softly strummed guitar and accentuating strings, you’re left to only focus on his message and nothing more.

Hunsley is already garnering the attention of tastemakers in the UK and US, with the rest of the world surely catching on soon. Make sure you follow him on Facebook so you can be in the know from the get-go.

[Techno/House] Wehbba – Trust

Brazilian-based producer Wehbba released his new bundle of singles with Stay Right this month. There’s one track in particular that especially stands out among the rest, and that’s the track “Trust.” Wehbba has been producing techno and techno/house fusion works that have made our ears perk up in the recent years. His tracks, like most techno, have a drive to them that would hook anyone who listens. But with his new track “Trust,” the level of pull is so much more real.

The tune begins with a little guitar sample that’s reminiscent of something old Sonny boy of Skrillex would have produced as an intro back in his Bangarang days, and we were very curious to see where the track would go. It sounded far from a techno track in the beginning actually. But then, the vocal sample begins to slowly crescendo in until its peak drops a techno/house bass beat that comes in like a tsunami that totally wipes away the vocals for the next few measures, leaving you drowning in a techno wonderland. If you were at a festival on the outskirts of a crowd, contemplating going and getting a bucket of crab fries at that delicious stand, this drop would make any techno lover about-face and walk on beat right back to the center of the crowd like a champion.

And that, friends, is where we leave you. In the middle of the techno pit with Wehbba.

[Electronic] Fareoh – Illegal

Fareoh always manages to keep his work fresh and exciting. How he does it, we can’t be too sure, but what we can do is appreciate every time he releases a record. His most recent is fabulous, and it’s called “Illegal.”

Let’s face it, every one loves something that is illegal. Now it may not be technically illegal, it can still be out of our reach. Fareoh describes this track as the feeling you get when you find yourself in that situation. We’ve all been there, and we’d have to agree with the sonic representation. Not only do we agree, but we love just what he’s done with “Illegal.” Not only that, but Katelyn Tarver just crushed it with her vocal performance on this single. It’s an all around sweet record. She’s been pushing some really great records over the course of the past year, with some people calling for her to takeover Kygo’s place at the top of the chill house sub-genre. The After Death LP is all Gladkill, say for vocal contributions by Erica Dee on the ethereal single “Feel So.” Ethereal doesn’t just pertain to that one single, as it is a stylistic motif that is found throughout the producer’s project. He maintains his own style while bouncing between genres, which is not an easy thing to do. He pulls it off with grace and conviction, exemplifying to others that he is not only a musician, but an artist. We loved it, Foundations Recordings loved (and released) it. We’re confident it will tickle your fancy. If so, download it through Bandcamp!

[Pop] Mark Johns – Molino

From Next Wave and Moving Castle to Skrillex’s OWSLA imprint, Mark Johns has covered a lot of ground since her first cover over a year ago. She’s been featured on some outstanding tracks with artists such as Alexander Lewis and Bearson previously, and now we’re finally getting the first taste of her upcoming EP, Molino. You may notice an abrupt change in tone from Mark Johns’ earlier releases, and it’s definitely intentional. She addressed this in her recent interview with Rolling Stone, where she stated:

I wrote “Molino” out of frustration more than anything. I was like, “Well, this is all taking so long, and I don’t know what I’m doing, and I’m so scared. How do I feel about all of this? I’m a songwriter, I should be able to write about it.” So from that song, I kind of made that shift.

It’s very easy to feel overwhelmed in an entirely new city, and this song expands on that difficult (but also exciting) change in scenery. You’re constantly meeting someone new and exploring an unfamiliar space while working on making a home for yourself. Even among all of this, this song chronicles the part of the journey that shows you can be still alone in a city full of people, but there’s always going to be the opportunity to make something great with the people you do end up meeting. Mark Johns has certainly done that, and there’s no doubt she will continue to do so. Be sure to listen to “Before You” from the Molino EP also and look out for the full project on October 28th.

[Music Video] Madden – Alive

Warner Music has a new face on their roster. That face belongs to Madden. Here we’re not talking about the NFL legend, but rather a blossoming Norwegian producer who has been taking over Spotify with his single “Alive.”

“Alive” has garnered six and a half million plays on Spotify, and now there is a music video to accompany the popular single. The track is incredible, and the music video is undoubtedly stunning with immense visuals of nature. The star of the music video is Frederik Evensen, a snowboarder/surfer that knows a thing or two about living life to the fullest. By the end of this music video, you’re going to have an craving to leave on an adventure in Lofoten, Norway, where this music video was shot. We can’t blame you, we’re aching to hit it up ourselves.

[Event Review] TMN Gets Transformational at Symbiosis Gathering

dsc06214

When we finally drove over the Bixby Creek Bridge in Big Sur, we were only riding on a couple of hours of sleep. My business partner and I were already sixteen hours in for the long trek from the Arizona desert to Northern California’s lush Symbiosis Festival. When we finally made it to the gate a few hours later I found myself surrounded by waves of exuberantly dressed people of all shapes and sizes; I couldn’t help but feel like an outsider looking in.

This was my first transformational festival, but definitely not my first transformational experience. Fifteen months earlier I was living and teaching my way through Asia. I’ve meditated with Tibetan monks in Dhramshala, India and trekked through the Himalayas in Nepal. I mean, what could Symbiosis really offer me that was new I found myself wondering.

Yet, when I finally broke through the line and got my wristband, I began to notice; it was like driving into a dream. Not just one dream, but a patchwork of other people’s dreams.

Each patch was an area or experience that has their own small world that they had created. Everywhere you went it seemed like a completely different place. It was an oasis-like farm town where people from all walks of life gathered.

After setting up our camp we walked down the iconic Rainbow Highway, then down through the marketplace, and arrived finally at The Other. There were floating beds and people dancing in the water around an anchored DJ set. We walked by the Family Circus and I started to meet some of the residents inhabiting my new home. That night after meeting new friends we got ready to travel to the Fringe. I had seen the stage during the day, but at night it looked like something that came out of Dune. We then made our way past Empire of Love as the music began getting louder and louder until we eventually came to a sea of gorgeous people. At that time Opiuo was finishing up and Gramatik took the stage.

After that I had the time of my life, it reminded me of my time traveling and not having weight on my shoulders. It was a big relief where all my stress from my sales job just went away. It was a feeling I haven’t felt in a long time.

The next day I wanted to explore the small worlds that people had created for Symbiosis so I spent a lot of time going through the marketplace. I got to talk to some very unique vendors such as Phoenix Rising, From War to Peace, and my favorite Third Eye Pinecones with their hand-crafted, organic forest wear. It was very refreshing talking to people that are following their passion and sharing it with total strangers. When we finished checking out the vendors I traveled back to the Fringe to enjoy Santigold and RL Grime before starting our 16 hour journey back to Phoenix, Arizona.

Symbiosis was a strange but exciting experience for me. I didn’t transform so much as it helped me remember a time in my life when I was really happy. It became an opportunity to meet people who were like me that were going through similar experiences. I am definitely looking forward to traveling back for Symbiosis Gathering next year.

[Deep House] Candyland & RICCI – Touch Me

Candyland has been kicking up the house game with several of her past releases, and we’re not mad at all. The past two, including the latest one “Touch Me,” have been pushed through Monstercat, which has been a perfect fit for the Santa Barbara producer.

“Touch Me” isn’t exclusively Candyland’s, as the Brazilian producer RICCI hopped on it as well. I’m going to be frank here, deep house doesn’t get much better than this. From the vocal, to the bassline, to the percussion, to every little detail; this song is on point. If you don’t want something to get stuck in your head, then turn back now, because this is guaranteed to takeover your brain. Candyland never disappoints, and with the help of RICCI, this track was taken to extreme heights. We can’t wait to hear what each act has coming next. For now, we’ve got ourselves a copy of “Touch Me” and you can to thanks to iTunes.
