We scout out music you've never heard and deliver only the finest. Expect music curiously different, yet simply enjoyable. We are the essential guide to independent music and beyond.
Ever since FRND launched we’ve been at the edge of our seat ready for his next move. Aside from single after single, all we had from him was a lovable koala that acted in his stead. Now, FRND has revealed himself to be the multi-platinum songwriter/producer Andrew Goldstein and delivered his debut EP, In Your Dreams.
Within this EP we get all the tracks he’s previously released and more. “Sticks And Stones” and “Substitute” can be found, with the additions of “Movies” and “Soap.” All together the EP displays FRND’s signature sound, one that has impressed a large number of fans across the world already. FRND is just getting started, so it will be interesting to see where he goes from here. Now that his identity has been revealed, we’re sure the veteran has a long career ahead with this new project.
Felix Jaehn was just getting started when he released his hit single “Hot2Touch” in May of this year. Since then the song has received millions of streams on several platforms, as well as a handful of remixes from talented producers. Today, we’re jumping back to the original, but now in conjunction with its visual partner.
“Hot2Touch” is an extremely fun and memorable song. The same things can be said about the vibrant music video that’s all fun all the time. From beer pong to dance routines this music video spans a wide variety of activities to deliver something exciting to watch. Check out the video below and if you haven’t grabbed a copy of the single, you can do so on any digital platform.
Inspired by Japanese Breakfast’s dreamy, enveloping latest album, the front half of this week’s show featured a diverse mix of new tunes to get lost in. From there, it veered into some disco inspired indie including tunes from Arcade Fire’s newest album. After a healthy dose of brightness, I sprinkled in some moody electronic music before closing out with a mini-mix inspired by Four Tet’s Fabriclive album, Roosevelt’s Midnight Versions EP and some very serious Frank Ocean fomo.
Everyone loves free downloads. Each week we collect our favorite freebies from around the web – aka on Soundcloud – and deliver them to you here. All in all this week we have a dozen records ranging the genre board from a wide variety of producers and musicians. Acts this week include ember island, Prismo, Goja, Wenzday, TYNVN, DISKORD, Tha Trickaz and more. Together these tracks should aid your weekend festivities, whether you’re looking to chill or rage. You’ll find what you need below as far as music goes, but we hope you get everything you desire this weekend. Just try not to get so turnt that Monday is extra hellish.
If you don’t know who Rad Cat is then your life is about to change for the better. The LA producer just self-released his debut LP entitled Untitled. Complete with four tracks, this project gives you a taste of what Rad Cat has been up to and where his sonic path will lead him in the near future.
Untitled is more than a few tracks slapped together into one project. Each song tells a story, with each story being a chapter in a larger one, being the EP in its entirety. Most EPs nowadays are just some tracks that sort of go together, so it’s nice Rad Cat took the time to craft something next level. The first three tracks bring together sounds from funk and house to get you grooving and dancing along. Then Rad Cat shifts things entirely with “hater”, a trapped out beat that is nothing like the others, but fits so perfectly in the end. All in all, Untitled is one of our favorite EPs of the season.
Calper and Ayelle came together for a smashing single. “Without Me” will be released in full on the Feels EP on August 4th, but we get to preview the track in full early! This is a great thing as this track is beautiful, chill and captivating as can be.
“Without Me” sees Calper and Ayelle’s sounds playing off each other to perfection. There’s no single star of the show as they each headline a magnificent performance that will stand the test of time. It’s one of those songs that feels timeless right from the get go. Treat yourself this weekend with a little session of tuning the world out. Grab your headphones and run “Without Me” on repeat.
We’re not sure what it takes to score an official remix for DJ Khaled, but NOTD has what it takes. Not only did he manage to get the opportunity, but the Swedish producer pulled through in the clutch with an amazing turn around.
Not only did NOTD have to take on DJ Khaled, he had to flip Rihanna and Bryson Tiller with the song “Wild Thoughts.” Remixing a track of this magnitude is no easy feat, but NOTD’s pop meets moombah hybrid is lovable as hell. He brought the Summer vibes with his vibrant melodic take on the hit single. Have a listen to it today and share it with your friends over the weekend for best results.
“Everything Around Us” is a juicy single that comes to us from our friends at Uprise Music. Its creators Major Minor put it together with the help of Johanna & Jayden and released it as a free download.
The poppy electronic original is a chilled out treat whose cool sound has just the right attitude for Summer. Major Minor deliver what may be their best tune yet. It doesn’t take much effort, or even any at all to imagine this one being played out on the radio. It’s the perfect mixture of styles. “Everything Around Us” is so many things in one: a duet, a pop hit and an electronic work of art. It’s something you need to listen to and add to your digital library. Bonus points for sharing with friends and family.
Every so often an artist comes along that is truly doing their own thing. Wulfy is one of those people. Just take his latest release “HANNAH” as example of that. The self-proclaimed dog – really, he says he’s a dog – put out a super solid single to pull our attention his way.
Once you give “HANNAH” a listen your attention will be locked into Wulfy as well. His hip-hop meets R&B sound is something that, when read, doesn’t really make him stick out, but when you hear what he has to offer, you get why he’s a one of a kind artist. He’s early in his career and things are looking up. As long as he continues with what he’s got going on, he can make quite a splash.
Dark, twisted but incredibly beautiful, the music video for “Sleepwalker” by AWAY and London Thor is major. It feels like a cinematic masterpiece and that’s because that is exactly what it is, despite it being a music video.
AWAY and company did an amazing job. With the song, it’s a brooding single that packs a punch by itself, but when partnered with its visual component the whole package is extraordinary. The video bounces between the high quality shots of one storyline and the home videos of another. Together they form a moving experience that you just have to see for yourself. Be careful, this one approaches the NSFW line.
Get ready to get your groove on with “Strangers” from AObeats and Annabel Jones. This one is about as hot as it gets. Unique, invigorating and memorable as hell, “Strangers” is undoubtedly a hit.
From the start AObeats builds a groove to set the tone, but when Annabel comes in, things get taken up several notches. Her performance on this one is one of our favorites in 2017. Her performance is amazing and the lyrics are quite impressive. AObeats works wonders with an instrumental that brings the funk in his own way. All together “Strangers” is a must have, so head over to the digital store of your choice for a copy.
Everyone involved in this premiere are worthy of your utmost attention. We previously supported ATLiens‘ original single “Alchemy” and its music video, but today we get to give you a first listen to the official remix by Jameston Thieves.
“Alchemy” in its new form is a breakbeat masterpiece. Jameston Thieves is hands down one of the most dynamic producers you are going to find as he’s able to bring a unique sound to whatever style he wishes to take on. In taking on the ATLiens original, he didn’t stop short of spectacular. There are few people, if any, that can hold it down like this kid can. If you can handle the heat, go on ahead and get this track as it’s been released as a free download.
Today we’re bringing you a remix that instantly caught our attention for Whethan vs Oliver Tree’s “When I’m Down.” Austin, Texas duo Bronze Whale made up of Aaron Jaques and Benny Alley have been breaking into the music scene since 2011 and giving themselves a great name between original releases and other remixes.
This bouncy, pop edit takes this piano heavy chilled out track and leaves plenty of room for dancing. The added edginess to the layers in production give us a true sense of what these two are all about and keeps us bobbing our heads. Sometimes Tuesday’s can be just as bad as Monday’s but this release is a 10/10 mood booster and has us ready to rock into the weekend. Bronze Whale sweetens the deal by making their remix available as a free download here. Make sure to check it out and add it to your favorite Summer Playlist.
How about we end the day with something heavy? If all goes well, the day won’t end and it will bleed into tomorrow. That’s what might happen with the newly re-imagined “No Sleep Tonight” by VNDL. The New York producer’s official remix of LUMBERJVCK is here today as a free download and it’s something you will not want to pass on.
VNDL’s “No Sleep Tonight” remix rivals LUMBERJVCK’s usual barbaric bass style. Not only is the first drop as heavy as something can be musically, but VNDL shifts things up for the second drop in a way that comes unexpectedly. Even with us telling you that, you still won’t be ready for what’s to come. It’s something you just have to experience for yourself, so go on and click play and get to the madness!
“Crunch” is here and it is going to make you dance. Thanks to the good people at IN / ROTATION, we’ve got an exclusive first listen for you of Wongo‘s new single in the dojo. If you’re not ready to move your body for whatever reason, no need to fret as this will override whatever it is that is hindering you.
Wongo went all out with this, creating an extremely cathartic record that will get even the most stagnant and shy individuals up and grooving. It’s just too damn fun. The bassline is quite simple, but it’s nothing short of genius on Wongo’s part. “Crunch” is the festival track we’ve been waiting for in that it’s not the typical “hands up!” crap we tend to see. It’s just an amazing record with great energy that will get people dancing without hesitation. You’re going to want a copy of this one, which you can get from the digital store of your choosing today.
One dietary thing that is becoming more and more hype is the juice cleanse. Today, we hope you’re ready for such a cleanse, but instead of dealing with fruit, we’re dealing with a new EP from Capsule Club called Juice. In the dojo we’re premiering there EP in full, as well as the chance for you to grab the EP entirely free of charge.
With three tracks these house heads take us on a journey through some underground sounds that are making their way back to the forefront of dance music. Dirty electro in various forms is what makes up Juice, with each track bringing its own flavor to the mix. Together they form one delectable treat that is to be thoroughly enjoyed this Summer season. Enjoy an exclusive first listen and don’t forget to grab the free download before heading out!
Hello and welcome. Grab some snacks, a beverage, pull up a chair & get comfortable. It’s time to fill up some of your precious time with a brand new indie dojo.
If you are looking for a beautiful song, look no further than Adam Snow‘s latest release. Out now on Majestic Casual, “From __ with Love” is a soothing original whose chord progression will melt your heart instantly. You may need a tissue, but we’ll leave that up to you to grab before clicking play on this one.
Adam Snow enlisted some help from Fifty Grand to make this as special as it could be. Together they created something that will stand the test of time and be something fans come back to time and time again. Most producers now are trying to hone in on the hype of festivals, creating records that pack a punch for now, but don’t last. “From __ with Love” is good no matter the time of year or decade. Timelessness breathes through this one. Get your copy of it today.
Two words should get you excited and those two words are Kid Froopy. Just last Friday he dropped a new single on Deadbeats Records called “Drive Slow” that is an absolute jam. Turn up your speakers, strap in and get ready.
Despite it’s name, “Drive Slow” gets quite peppy and energetic. The thing about the energy is that it’s more about the vibe than being about the power. Groovy and infectious, Kid Froopy brought out all the stops to make this one of his best singles, which is saying a lot. Unique is something that always comes to mind when this kid puts out a track and that is without a doubt the case here. You need a copy of this, so head over to the digital store of your choice for one.
Hip-hop is all over the place right now. One area that is seeing a lot of growth is the combination of electronic music and rap, but then again, both seem to be spreading their wings everywhere. One such single that fuses the two is “Off For The Night” from No Wyld and MEMBA.
“Off For The Night” is not your typical hip-hop track. Produced by one of dance music’s finest, this track is quite distinct. MEMBA delivers an amazing instrumental without trying to overshadow No Wyld, a humility that isn’t often seen when these sounds collide. No Wyld doesn’t give us another mumble record, instead offering up a soulful song with just the right atmosphere you want in a record this time of year.
The dojo is about to explode thanks to Snafu. The Los Angeles bass master just dropped a hot one with Abrax Phaeton called “Blast” that is taking over our domain in this premiere. You get first dibs on hearing it, but prepare yourself. “Blast” is a big one.
Snafu’s hybrid sound plays right into the hearts of anybody who loves to go hard. A fusion of hip-hop (thanks to Abrax), trap and dubstep, headbangers and rail riders will absolutely adore this gem, but you don’t have to be a wild one to love “Blast.” It’s one of those bass tracks is just good, no matter if you’re sweating your existence away in the front row or simply enjoying it alone at home to keep you going through the week. “Blast” is out now on all digital formats if you’d like a copy or to add it to your playlist.
We have something that will get your blood pumping like mad. No need for coffee this Monday morning, just have a listen to “afk” by FAWKS to get things jump started. Released on Doorn Records today, we’ve got the exclusive first listen for you.
FAWKS goes all out with this riveting single. He fuses genres like electro and trance together for something that is truly incredible. It’s not hard to envision yourself at a warehouse party deep in the night dancing away your worries to this track. It doesn’t let up once it gets started, so get ready for some energy. “afk” is out now, so if you would like to get a copy, head over the the digital store of your choice to get it.
More than just a DJ or producer, Random Rab is a powerful figure head in the rapidly growing Transformational Festival scene. His sets have blurred the boundaries between genres, immersing his audience in music as a way of ceremony and deep connection to the cultures that surround.
Often a festival headliner, his patient, provocative journeys – for both sunrise and sunset – have become the rite of passage for festival goers from Lightning in a Bottle, to Boom, to Northern Nights, to Shambhala, to his seven consecutive Costa Rican sunrises at Envision Festival. His musical ceremonies in Black Rock City have become a Burning Man staple.
A luminary of the West Coast’s psychedelic-bass music scene, Random Rab rises to occasion with Formless Edge, his eleventh full-length solo opus, released on June 16, 2017 and available now.
Featuring 15 songs that unveil an ever-evolving transcendence of styles, each encoded with his unique eclectic vibration. Placing a focus on fidelity, and the delicate dance between the organic and electronic, Formless Edge transmits a bold frontier in sound design that incorporates over 30 unique instruments and collaborations with Lapa, Rigzin, Kyrstyn Pixton, Jason Kalidas, and Peia.
Rab’s album is a storied songbook and an amalgam of deftly blended instrumentation over organic electronics, the sonics of nature, and a mystical healing element that will leave you fixated on each track as they progress.
I’ve been approaching my electronic sound in a new way, focusing on analog frequencies and fidelity. As opposed to simply computer generated tones, I treat electronic sound like an instrument. I pull digital sounds into the analog realm to bring up the resolution and bring it back in so it’s actually a pristine analog recording
Formless Edge has all the elements of introspection and a journey to an ethereal world. His First single “Gimme That Hope” is the embarkation point, and Rab captains a patient and spirited build. “A Little More Free” is a mantra for self-empowerment, mined from a personal journey inward.
My favorite track is a song featuring the divine Tibetan Buddhist co-creator Rigzin called “Bodhicitta”, weaving together electronic beats with a captivating, powerful voice that takes your breath away and leaves you wanting more.
Amid the minimalist programming and signature electro his experimentalism truely shines as the album progress through “Outpost Aurora” and arrives at “Parallels”, One of three collaborations with Lapa, the songs are something you will want to continue to venture back to time and time again.
He truly is a magician, creating songs of faith and devotion, and inspiring a generation of dreamers to go deeper.
Formless Edge is available via major digital outlets including Bandcamp and iTunes. Special edition audiophile 24-bit flash drive and Formless Edge 6×6 8-page book of artwork is also available via Bandcamp.
In support of the new album, Random Rab is touring this summer with ten cities across North America and Hungary. His next stop being Northern Nights Festival July 14th-16th, followed by a stop in Hungary’s O.Z.O.R.A festival only to come back to North America for 4 of the top festivals in the world. Beloved, Shambala, Global Eclipse, and Burning Man.
I know I will be at 3 of those festivals and can not wait to witness these new tracks in person.
It seems like yesterday we were sharing with you the 254th volume of our Friday Party Playlist, but it’s been a full week. You’e muscled through the week and now Friday is here. What do you deserve? Some time off and a dozen free downloads is a good place to start. This week we have freebies from the likes of Hairitage, Dusty Bits, Convex, NuKid, Kastra, Kompany, Kennedy Jones and more. Enjoy all twelve as you let loose or relax, whichever style you prefer. No matter what you do, we hop you enjoy the weekend and check back next week for another batch of free tracks!
There’s been a very well deserved commotion behind producer, Illenium, his melodic sound puts you into a day dream state you never want to leave and the emotion behind his productions evokes even the most distant memories. What’s just as impressive is the talent that has taken on his tracks for official remixes and today we’re talking about Trivecta’s “Fractures” remix.
Trivecta does an excellent job with keeping the emotionally filled melodic sound that Illenium originally created with this track, but inducing us into a climactic build that drops into a synth laden edit and turns up the percussion for an up beat chorus that melds the two artist’s talents together seamlessly.
Alongside the remix teased in Illenium’s EDC recap which you can purchase or stream here, Colorado based Nick Miller has announced phase one of his Awake Tour. Fans can catch Illenium live all across the United States starting in Denver in November, heading through stadiums from San Francisco to Chicago. With amazing performances at EDC and recently Electric Forest, which we got to witness ourselves, we can guarantee there will be nothing disappointing about this tour. Check out the first stops below and purchase tickets for the tour here.
Emma Jensen‘s single “Closer” is closing in on five million streams on Spotify alone. As the track continues to grow, we’ve got a little something special to give you in honor of the original’s success. Today we premiere an official remix by Rytmeklubben of her smash hit.
“Closer” in its new form is an ethereal slow jam that makes heavy use of Emma’s vocal, which serves to be a strong point for the track. Instead of trying to overshadow her performance, the Norwegian group played off of her to the best of their ability with the result being an extraordinary flip. Released on Majestic Causual, this remix has all the ingredients to be a big hit just like the original. Enjoy your exclusive first listen today in the dojo.
A new duo out of Sweden has quickly become one of our favorite acts and they have only released on song. “Billion” is enough to do that and you’ll see, or rather hear, why in a moment. We The Kids took a strong first step with their debut track to set themselves up for big success.
Released on Tenacity Records, “Billion” is an indie dance treasure, taking influence from pop, future, R&B and more. It’s a magnificent melting pot of bright sounds and lovable melodies that come just in time for the Summer season. Their odd, but intriguing attitude comes through in their sound; it will suck you in and never let go. Stream their debut single today and stay tuned for more work from them soon.
“Reaction” by Gromo is one beautiful song. With the help of singer Breana Marin, Gromo a soulful R&B meets electronic record that will soar to the top of your playlists and stay there the rest of the year. It’s that good.
Gromo has a radio hit on his hands, it’s just a matter of seeing it through to the airwaves. Now when we say it’s radio-ready, we don’t mean it’s a “for the masses” type of song with no heart, rather, it’s a timeless tune that is accessible to any sort of music listener, whether you happen to be a fan of electronic music, hip-hop, pop or soul. It’s got a bit of everything going on for it. What makes it even better is that Gromo dropped it as a free download, so you have no reason to sleep on it.
Get ready for a super fun track from Control S and Sweet Female Attitude. “I Quit” is something you won’t be quitting anytime soon. It’s got a little bit of everything you want in a good dance track, but to sum it up: “I Quit” has undeniably good energy.
The vibe on this one is on point, as much as we hate to use the fluffed term “vibe.” However, once you give this a listen you’ll see exactly what we mean. Exciting, invigorating and memorable, “I Quit” will be a song you come back to again and again throughout the years. Control S and Sweet Female Attitude work together without any hiccups for a huge release that we’re hyped on and we think you will be too.
Spinnin Records enters the dojo with a new single from their upcoming Brazilian Bass compilation. In this premiere we have for you the collaboration between SELVA and Zerky on “Make Me Wanna” that we could not pass up.
“Make Me Wanna” is a vivacious house record. It’s much more than your usual house track though with a vocal that is up at the top of our favorites list for this year. It’s too catchy not to love. The same goes for the instrumental, whose bassline will take over your mind and never let go. “Make Me Wanna” will also take over your body and get you dancing all season long. It’s the a proper Summer track you need. Get your exclusive first listen today!
We’re bringing you a upbeat mashup meets remix of, literally, all of the lights. DJ and Producer Nitti Gritti has taken 2017 hit, “Lights” by San Holo, added a boisterous edit, and threw in a little plus. Gritti surprises us with samples from Kanye West’s “All of the Lights” featuring Rhianna and Kid Cudi, delivering two hit songs into one package.
The track, featured by Nitti Gritti himself, at EDC Las Vegas during a sunrise for Trap Nation’s art cart, has gained support from San Holo himself and amassed over 60 thousand plays via Soundcloud. The bass artist has given listeners a special treat with a free download. Grab it here.
At just sixteen years of age, Whitney Woerz is on the right track. She’s on the right track so much so that her debut single has over two million streams on her music video. We have that music video for you today and you can help it close in on the three million mark with your view.
“Idea of Her” is a magnificent pop single. It alone could have garnered the love and attention the entire project has received, but having a solid music video always helps. With it we come face to face with Whitney who takes center stage. The video – and song – express the aches and pains of teenage love without being cheesy at all. That’s hard for a pop artist to do sometimes, especially at sixteen, but Whitney writes beyond her years and delivered an incredible project. Check it out and stay tuned for her EP Iridescent.
Get ready to dance. The Whip It EP from Eric David is here with some solid house grooves released through THNK TNK Records. The three track project has come just in time to slide into your Summer playlists where it belongs. Grab a drink, grab some friends and get ready to Whip It.
“Sexy Love” kicks off the EP with a pop meets disco fusion sound that has pool party written all over it. The title track comes next with its bustling sound that takes from the more techy side of house. Lastly, “Natural Queen” closes things out with a deep, clubby vibe to give the EP another set of sound. All in all the tracks work together to make Whip It an enjoyable experience that is anything but drab.
Not only did Wilsonn recently drop a new single, but also a mixtape. We have both for you today, the first being “Touched” and the second being the twenty three minute “Idiocentric” mix. Together they serve as a one-two punch from Wilsonn to end your day well.
“Touched” is a twerk-centric trap tune that isn’t just all about getting booties shaking. The song does have an emotional edge to it, fusing sounds together that you wouldn’t necessarily think to go together, but Wilsonn makes it work. With his mix, Wilsonn flipped some of his favorite producers’ works and packed them all together in one impressive mix. It may be short, but it’s not all about length, right? *cue giggles*
Usually when we have a premiere, it’s of a single track from a single artist or collaboration. That’s not the case today, as we’re sharing three tracks from Renraku‘s upcoming Gravity Well compilation. In this premiere, we’re giving you an early listen to singles from Kurve, NEWSENSEi and Prophet. Enjoy them all, as they don’t come out in full until the 25th, but we’ve got you covered!
Kurve’s “Stuck There” is a neuro-minimalists dream come true. It’s simple composition holds your attention with subtle nuances that peak out and jab your ear drum with pleasureful, dark tones. “Dirty Jobs” by NEWSENSEi is a slow-motion heater that shares the neuro edge of the previous single, but flips the tone entirely for an industrial specimen that you can enjoy over and over again. Lastly, Prophet’s “False Idol” comes through with a KOAN Sound-esque style, but takes a more downtempo, glitchy approach. All three together are delectable bass treats that we’re happy to share with you early! Make sure to grab the full Renraku compilation when it drops July 25th.
They say nothing in life comes free. False. Please see below. It’s the freest of the free weekly Indie Dojo. Zero dollars. Absolutely no strings attached. Straight from the bottom of our hearts.
LA-based vocalist MOONZz has impressed us with her first 2017 release “Navigator,” and blown us away with her recently re-imagined version featuring production by New Zealand’s SACHI. “Home” adds the summer, pool-side sparkle to an already strong vocal track with popping synths and an up beat melody. This paired with the sultry feel of MOONZz’s voice has this track slated to be one of the hottest of the summer.
MOONZz shows no sign of slowing down between building a four piece band for her upcoming Summer and Fall tour and working on her 2nd EP, due this Fall. With collaborations including Khamsin, STINT, SRNO, Netsky, Armin Cekin and more to be featured on the upcoming EP, this vocalist is on our top watch list. Avoid missing what MOONZz has to offer by streaming here or purchasing via iTunes here.
Whoever Linda is, she had a stunning record made for her. “Linda” by Barcelona’s Marsal Ventura is anything but ordinary. Marsal gives us something we can never forget and in all likelihood, you won’t be forgetting it either – at least, not anytime soon.
“Linda” shares some sounds from the producer’s home country to spice up the house genre like few times before. It’s more than a simple electronic record, Marsal utilizes a handful of things outside the usual digital realm to really make this song something special. Get ready to dance, because “Linda” is here in all her glory. If you would like a copy of the single, you can grab one from Beatport.
Today we have something to tell you. Well, a few things, but they all revolve around one thing, a new single by FRSH KEPT that’s been released on Lush Records. The beautiful future bass tune is just the right thing you need to kick off the week properly.
“Tell Me” is a gem that is likely to endure given it’s highly emotive sound. FRSH KEPT grabs your attention quickly with a tasteful introduction featuring riveting piano chords and a vocal topline that is nothing short of magnificent. Although the song follows the genre formula, FRSH KEPT knocked this one out of the park, hitting the bullseye on a target that is getting smaller and smaller as so many producers have their hand at the genre. Give it up to FRSH KEPT to keep things – dare we say – fresh.
An applause is needed for Friday. Instead of clapping, let’s celebrate with some good ol’ free downloads, shall we? This week we have another batch of twelve records for you to enjoy as you let loose over the weekend. Usually, we have a mix of everything, but it just happens that we did away with any house tracks and are going hard with mostly cut time records. That doesn’t mean we only have trap/dubstep for you, as there are a handful of tunes including Dusty Bits breakbeat masterpiece that shake things up. Other artists you will find here include Two Friends, Ray Volpe, We’re Not Friends, Willy Joy, Party Thieves and more. Stream all twelve, download all twelve and enjoy the 2.5 days that make up your weekend (Friday counts as half, but make it count as a whole by going as hard as humanly possible).
VenessaMichaels has stepped away from her remixes to surprise us with an original track. “After Hours” was inspired by the manga series of the same name and was created in partnership with Viz Media, the anime website that has bridged the cultural gap between America and Japan.
“After Hours” has the signature Venessa sound, but even with that Venessa manages to bring a bit of a different vibe. She took some influence from the manga series and culture surrounding it, paying homage by way of this track. Many producers and industry figures are huge fans of anime and manga, but rarely do we come across a token like this. Stream it today and get a copy of the song from iTunes.
It’s been a while since we’ve posted up a glitch track, but we couldn’t pass up this new one from Marvel Years. “Anywhere You Want To Go” is a straight jam. Released as a free download, this single has a whole lot going on in the best way possible.
Each element of the track flows together without any piece butting heads with each other. From the start we get a striking guitar riff that sets the tone perfectly. From the hard rock sound, we then get whisked away into a bluesy introduction that changes up the tone, but still has that hard edge we started with. With the chorus, or drop as some love to say, we get straight to the glitchy gold. Marvel Years stated this track just sort of flowed out of him, which usually happens when an artist puts together some of their best work. Stream it today and grab the DL.
DJ Mustard is well known for his memorable hip-hop beats, but that’s not all he’s capable of. It’s pretty obvious given his name that he can DJ, but as far as producing goes, DJ Mustard isn’t just here to make hip-hop. In fact, today we’re sharing with you a remix EP that sees him diving into electronic music.
In all honesty, once you produce hip-hop, making the switch to dance music isn’t all that hard, but writing great electronic music isn’t easy. With DON’T BOX ME Vol. 1, DJ Mustard did just that though with three remixes of tracks by Lil Uzi Vert, Childish Gambino and Khalid. With hints of trap and future, these tracks are anything but your usual DJ Mustard sounds. Stream them today and if you get a chance to check out DJ Mustard live, do it. In all likelihood you’ll be hearing these jams IRL!
Today we’ve got something special for you all the way from Sydney. LO’99 was tapped to be a part of the Night BassSummer Phases 2017 project with “Cabin Flex” that is premiering here and now in the dojo. Not only are we sharing it with you first, but it’s come out as a free download for you to hop on!
“Cabin Flex” abides by the underground sound that Night Bass pushes. It’s club meets rave – we’re talking classic raves – sound pays homage to the history of house while bringing the sounds to modern times for contemporary dance enthusiasts to enjoy. LO’99 has always had a tasteful quality to his music, which shows greatly with this deep, minimal single. Enjoy the first listen today and don’t forget to grab the download.
“Moonwalk” by Nato Feelz is a treasure. It’s a treat best served up on a solid sound system with the speakers turned way up so that your neighbors, depending on their musical tastes, will either love you completely or hate you with everything they’ve got. Today you get a first listen to “Moonwalk” right here in the dojo, so get those speakers ready.
Nato Feelz describes his sound as “Beats that make ya head nod” and that’s just what we get with this single. From the very beginning with the filtered synths you already begin to feel your head automatically sway until you hit the drop. No “EDM” build up needed, just a quick introduction that slams you right into the heat of things. From there, you’ll have more than just your head nodding as “Moonwalk” calls for a full body experience. The hybrid sound will bring trap and dubstep fans together under one roof, grooving together to one major tune. “Moonwalk” is now available as a free download.

On the heels of a lengthy world tour, Australian electronic pop duoKllohave returned to share new music with us. Melbourne cousins Chloe Kaul and Simon Lam have an catchy sound characterized by Kaul’s ethereal vocals overlaid on intricate electronic production. They’ve found much success with previous EPsCuspandWell-Worn, which is why we’re delighted by their announcement for debut LPBackwater, due out later this year on Ghostly.
In anticipation of their album, Kllo have released lead single “Virtue” today. Kaul’s distinctive singing style rings true throughout the song, while the duo’s electronic production talents shine. The cousins claim to draw inspiration from the xx, which is made clear by their conjunction of moody pop vocals and UK garage/techno style beats. If you’re a fan of this catchy tune, preorderBackwaterhereor catch them on tour in Europe/Australia at the end of this year.
With the recent Spotify boom and the decline of Soundcloud, the cover/remix package is becoming quite the go-to. One artist who has recently hopped on that with some success is A&G, who remixed Drake’s “Passionfruit” with the help of vocalist Andrew Tejada.
The tropically driven remix by A&G has a throwback sound to when the sub-genre was first circulating. It makes for a nice nostalgic Summer song. It’s got a chill vibe to it, but that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t make for a good record to get a party going. Dance-able and vivid, this new “Passionfruit” will be eaten up by party goers all season long. A&G released this one as a free download, so there’s no real reason to sleep on it.
Some of you might recognize the name Kevin Rudolf from “Let It Rock” and collaborations with Timbaland. The dynamic musician has been all over the music world for years, delivering a plethora of tracks to the table. Today, he shares his new single “Nobody Gets Out Alive” that features some future pop characteristics.
“Nobody Gets Out Alive” has some strong pop undertones, despite it having a discernible “drop” and being heavily electronic. The mainstream world Kevin comes from shows through in the strong song writing, one that is formulaic, but memorable. With this track he shows just what he is capable of while diving head first into the electronic world. Electronic elements have been a part of Kevin’s work before, but this is taking things to a whole new scope. Grab a copy of his new single today.
“Where We Go” by Taska Black is one of Bitbird‘s most moving releases. That is saying a lot given the label’s highly creative output. The imprint has someone extremely talented on their hands and we don’t see them letting go anytime soon.
Taska Black only has a handful of tracks on his Soundcloud, including a remix for San Holo that Bitbird also put out. Taska Black’s sound isn’t something that can exactly be pinned down and described using genre termonology, which gives it a fresh edge that most producers don’t have. “Where We Go” shows masterful skill when it comes to melody. It’s catchy, but not in the overly refined pop sense. Rather, it’s just an awesome song. Get your copy of it today.
Get ready to groove with Flapo‘s flip of “Young Hearts” by NoMBe. The remix comes to the internet as a free download and once you listen to this remix, you’ll be all over it.
Flapo had the fortunate opportunity to take a stab at “Young Hearts” and pulled through with an amazing turn around. This slow jam gem is going to be a go-to track in our Summer playlist, but it’s likely not going to be only found in ours. Although the Summer is taken over by high energy festival records, tracks like Flapo’s slide through and take our breathe away. Check it out today and make sure to grab the free download before you head out.
“With this one I sat down, didn’t overthink it and just had fun…” -KRANE via Pop Crush
Fun is the first word that comes to mind when listening to this record. Krane has taken the unique production of Cashmere Cat, the vocals of MO and style of SOPHIE and turned “9 (After Coachella)” into something completely original. This rising producer does a fantastic job of incorporating his own sounds of synths and hints of trap, separate of Cashmere’s funky plucks that permeate the original version. The flip creates an excitement and energy that is surely going to be found throughout the rest of the festival season. To top it all off this remix is available for FREE download here.
We’re pretty sure PatrickReza can do anything. His works have spanned genres from future bass to trap to dubstep and beyond. Today we share with you his latest, which hits the electro house sound right on the head. “OVERDRIVE” was released for free, so you should just go right on ahead and download it before even taking a listen.
Listen you shall, though. “OVERDRIVE” has that classic 2012-2013 sound that so many of us just can’t shake anytime we hear it. It was a time when electro was at the top and artistry was put first. Patrick brings that sound and style back while implementing newfound elements and his own signature for a huge record.
“I wanted to capture a feeling I experienced this year while dancing with my friends and the crowd during Justice’s Sunday night performance at Coachella this year. During their set I saw everyone dancing, having a good time, present, and in the moment. No phones to block our view, just a crowd of people hungry for good times and good music. It was extremely refreshing to see the audience engaged and tuned in to the music and after getting home, I knew I had to capture or document that energy and feeling in the form of “Overdrive”, an homage to those that came before me and influenced me to create and continue to evolve as a musician, performer, and artist mashed up with my own melodic bass heavy sounds. PLAY THIS LOUD!”
– PatrickReza
Sydney songster L D R U just announced his upcoming EP, Sizzlar. Instead of simply telling the world via social media or doing some cheesy stunt to get people hyped up, he dropped a heater called “Me” with BOI. Get strapped in, this is a wild one.
“Me” is fresh as can be. There are a ton of stand out artists from Australia, but L D R U is looking to reign supreme with tracks like this one. It doesn’t necessarily fall into one distinct genres, which is one of the things that makes it so remarkable. If the rest of the EP is like this, then L D R U is going to make a splash akin to an atomic bomb going off in the middle of the ocean. Suffice to say, we’re pumped for Sizzlar.
It’s a good week anytime Bobby Nourmand steps out with a release. Luckily, that happened this week. Potion released this collaborative jam yesterday. Bobby couldn’t resist throwing some hip-hop/R&B vibes into the mix thanks to DOC and Goodmorning.
“MIND” is as smooth as can be. Bobby’s laid-back attitude breathes through the clubby composition. It has some energy behind it, pushing forward through the inescapable grooves. Minimalism is somewhat of a motif in Bobby’s catalog and he’s one of the producers who hits the bullseye every time. At no point do things get dull, Bobby always keeps the party going with his infectious music. If you’d like a copy, which you will, you can get it through digital stores today.
Good Enuff has come back with another Jace Mek tune. If you’ve been reading this site for a while, then you’ve had to come across several Jace Mek tunes as he’s one producer that never disappoints. His streak continues with “Conjunct.”
“Conjunct” is just as dark and weird as the usual Jace Mek but it has a bit of a different mood to it than his usual work. The best way we can describe it is Jace Mek in Summer. It’s clubby, but not in any way that has you thinking Top 40 or David Guetta. Far from it in fact, as Jace manages to take his signature and bring it into a new field that is perfect for this time of year. Don’t be surprised when you hear this being played out by house guys at festivals all over the world. Get your copy today.
Daijo and Aloma Steele return together with another future bass hit. “Heart Sting” will do just that, so be careful with this one. Daijo’s only released a handful of records over the past year, but he’s quickly risen among the ranks as one of the go-to guys for memorable songs.
“Heart Sting” balances out Daijo’s catalog as it comes as the third original complimented by three remixes. We’re glad he moved to originals as it really showcases his abilities all around. His previous two originals had him bringing a pop edge to the mix, but here he goes a pretty traditional route with his future sound. It’s just got a slightly different tone to it, but he keeps the strong vocal work involved. Aloma, as usual, killed it on that front. “Heart Sting” is out now on digital stores.
If there was only one project you could listen to all week, make it Ghosts by Ash Riser. For one, it’s packed with seventeen tracks, so you’re sure to get your fill, along with some variety. Secondly, it’s an extraordinary project that only Ash has the ability to put together.
As you might guess from an album called Ghosts, the mood overall is quite haunting and dark. Ash has already established himself as a unique creator, but with this LP he cements an undeniable pillar deep in the ground and high in the air for everyone to see that he is a must know artist. He kicks up some hip-hop, but his indie sound doesn’t hold him to any one genre throughout the project. Ghosts isn’t something that should really be analyzed as it speaks for itself in a way that is unrivaled. If you’d like a copy, hit up the digital service of your choice to get it.
One thing nobody wants to feel is alone, unless it’s the “Alone” that Susan Gittes is pushing. Susan is following the music first model, something some of the EDM masked DJs are using as a veil over their manufactured brand. Susan isn’t about gimmicks or brands or anything like that. Instead, she just wants you to enjoy the music.
Enjoy “Alone” you shall. The dark techno treat has been released on Bishop Bloc Records. It’s not hard to imagine yourself in the ravey warehouse in the middle of nowhere while this banger is booming away through your speakers. It lives and breathes the underground sound, a sound that some producers just can’t seem to dial in nowadays. “Alone” is currently available on iTunes with another single for those looking to get this one.
Tech House is not the first genre that comes to mind when when we dive into the depths of the internet looking for music, but we’re glad we came across “Make You” by PhilZen. If you’re not a fan of the genre, this one just might “Make You” a fan. Ahh, puns, gotta love them.
PhilZen comes straight out of Icon Collective with his bustling original. Taking influence from the early 90’s, “Make You” nails the classic sensibility of house music. It’s amazing to hear someone bring back the sounds that brought dance music to where it is today. Most people are only looking forward, but appreciating the past goes a long way for creators. PhilZen nailed it here and on top of that, he released this hot one as a free download.
Things are heating up this summer for rising DJ and producer Moon Boots aka Peter Dougherty. August 4th he’ll be releasing his debut album First Landing on London based label, Anjunadeep, a hotbed for dutifully picked music gold. Recently released is one of 10 tracks on the upcoming LP, and if the remaining nine are anything like this one we’re in for quite a treat come August.
Moon Boots keeps things laid back and groovy with vocals by Nic Hanson while jazzy guitar and a soulful melody binds this track into the ultimate Summer release leaving us anticipating the remaining album. We’re thinking this track best pairs with a coastal highway, top down convertible, and your best road trip crew. Make sure to stream and download “Keep the Faith” here.
‘First Landing’ Track list:
1. Fortune Teller feat. King Kona
2. Keep The Faith feat. Nic Hanson
3. First Landing
4. Never Get To You feat. Antony & Cleopatra
5. Power feat. Black Gatsby
6. I Want Your Attention feat. Fiora
7. Utopia feat. Janelle Kroll
8. Tear My Heart feat. Lulu James
9. The Life Aquatic
10. Red Sky
Let’s get Friday night started right with some amazing music from talented producers all across the world. This week we have a dozen tracks as we do every week that will usher in the weekend with a bang. All twelve songs are available as free downloads, so if downloading music is still your thing, you’re free (pun intended) to gather up all the ones you like and add them to your digital library. Songs in this collection come to us from Yntendo x Sam F, YOOKiE x Woogie, Snails, Philzen and many more. Check them all out now and have a fun, but safe weekend!
Sean Turk continues his trailblazing with another official remix. This time around he was tapped by Warner Music for a flip of “Treat You” by New Zealand’s Theia. Her vocal fits just right with Sean’s iconic sound, so good in fact that we hope this isn’t the only time we hear these two together.
“Treat You” in its new form is reminiscent of Sean’s bedroom bass signature, but still Sean seems to be adapting his sound and bringing it to new horizons. With this dynamic edge, Sean is establishing himself as one of the best while keeping himself distinguishable among the endless sea of producers. Look for Sean to take over the game, something he’s already well on his way to doing.
The inevitable build up before a festival is both taxing and exciting. There are always so many loose ends to wrap up before you can completely ditch work, disconnect, and get ready for a few, stellar days of partying. The only thing we’ve found to help combat that pre-festie anxiety is a healthy dose of danceable tunes. Luckily for you, and us, Nashville-based Cherub has prescribed just the thing with an exclusive 30-minute mix ahead of their performance at Northern Nights.
Laid into the intersection of Mendocino and Humboldt Counties, the Emerald Triangle aka the crown jewel of NorCal, is welcoming back the fifth annual Northern Nights Music Festival. Taking place this July 14-16, this long-standing festival is stacked with a vibey lineup that perfectly accentuates it’s stunning location.
Cherub, who you’re probably grooving to as you read this, join Living Legends, Jai Wolf, Big Wild and G Jones as the headliners. There are plenty of other noteworthy acts behind them, including one of our personal favs, Moon Boots.
If the greener side of life is your thing, this year’s festival is offering up its first-ever Medical Marijuana Zone. This unprecedented state-of-the-art “Tree Lounge” for legal cannabis card holders will be an exclusive, innovative and educational oasis in the center of the festival providing education, on-site Dr. recommendations, cannabis sampling, interactive installations, refreshments, meet-and-greets with headliners plus performances throughout the weekend.
As of right now, tickets are still available, so we highly recommend calling your co-workers to get your shifts covered, and getting your camping gear together ASAP.
The Los Angeles songstress Gallo just kicked off her project with a bang. Not like a handgun bang, but more like a Grand Theft Auto unlimited ammunition rampage with the release of “Sugar Daddy” and its music video. The Tarantino loving musician isn’t pulling any punches and she is just getting started, literally.
“Sugar Daddy” is a darkened pop hit that’s anything but your average pop song. Gallo establishes her own signature sound in a big way with this one, but more than that, she establishes her overall tone with a music video for the debut single. It’s weird, edgy and provocative in all the right ways. Check it out below and stay tuned for more from the one and only Gallo.
As a producer, getting to work with or remix an idol is a dream come true. That dream came true for WAVEDASH who took on “Talking Machine” by The M Machine. Released on Mad Zoo, this official remix is just as awesome as you would imagine it would be.
With electro slowly but surely making its comeback, this flip plays right in line with the trend. WAVEDASH deliver a unique take on the track by taking their sound in a different direction, something that both The M Machine and Mad Zoo call for with their left-field catalogs. Instead of playing things safe, WAVEDASH took a chance on making something different and it paid off big time. This remix is hot, hot, hot! Get your copy of it today on the digital service of your choice.
So far Summer has been treating mashup, and DJ veteran Trademark well with a featured ‘Made in America’ playlist via YourEDM and a recent remix for NEW CITY’s “Dirty Secrets.” Trademark does a fantastic job of taking the soulful record by Pop/R&B Canadian producers NEW CITY and creating something airy for Summer, a perfect time for the chilled out synths and strong vocals that are prominent throughout. We imagine sand between our toes, warm nights and flickering fire flies and with Trademarks upbeat touch to the slower original he’s easily created our mental picture. We got a chance to catch up with Trademark about music industry challenges, his process in creating his recent hit, and more. Check it out below.
TMN: What have been some of the more challenging aspects you have faced in music as years have passed? Production wise, booking wise, and general music industry?
Trademark: One of the most challenging aspects has been to balance my mashups and edits against other artists that have been strictly releasing original music. The music industry, especially in electronic music, sometimes has a negative reaction to artists that purely release mashups. It’s a fair point to some degree, but over the last nine years I’ve worked really hard on creating a brand that revolves around combing some of the best music out there into new songs. I’ve been fortunate to be able to work directly with artists and producers who recognize that what I’m releasing can get their music to new audiences, and having their permission to make these mashups is definitely validation that there’s a space for my music in the overall landscape. It’s only gotten more fun to play shows across the country where even if everyone in the room doesn’t know my music, I can surprise people with fresh takes on pop records and big dance tracks.
TMN: Your New City remix made it onto Kaskade’s Konnect playlist, congrats! How does it feel when artists of that caliber pick up your music? Who have been the ones you have ‘fan girled’ over the most when getting recognition for your music?
Trademark: Thanks! It’s always pretty crazy when a big artist gives you support on a track, and Kaskade was definitely one where I had to take a step back and realize how wild that was. For about a month straight, Tiesto was playing a new mashup of mine in each of his Club Life radio shows. Hearing him intro each of my tracks was a big fan girl moment for sure.
TMN: What was your artistic process like when creating the New City Remix?
Trademark: I had been listening to NEW CITY’s other song, “Coachella” before I got the opportunity to remix “Dirty Secrets”, so I already had a lot of ideas about how to work with the record. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t overshadowing the vocals on the verses because they’re so strong on their own, but also give the track really solid percussion and a bouncy bassline. The hook really came out of a natural progression from the verse, adding the vocal chops and some big synths to round out the chorus. I think the finished product has a solid summer vibe to it, something easy to get carried away with making music this time of year.
TMN: I’m sure you’ve acquired more influences as the years have passed, any current artists really motivating you right now?
Trademark: I’ve been listening to a lot of Lost Kings, Elephante, Gryffin, Party Favor, and Cheat Codes. I try and put a lot of melodic elements in my mashups and now in my own productions, so keeping up with those five recently has been a good starting point for me to get inspired about keeping melody in whatever music I’m making.
TMN: You’re very well known for your mashups, mixes etc., is there any original music in the near future from you?
Trademark: Absolutely. I’ve spent a lot of time working on my own productions and remixes over the last few years, getting ready to jump into fully original material. I want to make sure I’m giving my fans the best music possible, and I think everyone will be surprised with some of the new stuff rolling out soon.
TMN: You’ve been DJing since about 2009, how do you keep it challenging? Anything new you’ve learned using the equipment?
Trademark: Every time I play a set I feel like I’m pushing myself to be more unique and creative. In 2009 I was playing long sets at bars or parties, maybe three or four hours at a time. Recently I’ve been playing for an hour or an hour and a half, but I’ve learned a lot from those extended shows about trying to shape my music over the course of a night. I try to never map out what I’m playing because it lets me make decisions on the fly and put together the best possible set. Working with the crowd is super essential to being a good DJ, and you limit yourself if you have a preconceived idea of what people will like.
TMN: What is your best advice on mastering the art of DJing and providing a great show for the crowd for those just starting out?
Trademark: I think everyone will tell you, jumping off of my last point, that you learn new things as you go. The best way to learn is to play as much as possible, and if you can get in front of a crowd that’s even better. I was lucky to have low pressure gigs early on like bars and small parties, but even when it was in front of just a few people, you’re still testing yourself in a live environment. Take every opportunity someone gives you to get out and play music, make those connections, and challenge yourself to do something different and exciting each set.
TMN: What are some things you know now that you wish you had known when you first started out?
Trademark: I’m not sure if there’s a specific set of things I wish I had known when I started, but it’s still amazing that I’ve been able to push this project into 2017 and beyond. The fans that have been there since 2008 have seen a trajectory that has never strayed far off from what I originally was doing. Music changes, but adapting without sacrificing your own vision entirely is a huge part of artists that have lasted a long time in the industry. I try to keep that in mind with everything I’m working on, and especially now with remixes and originals coming out, I want to always give my fans the best music possible.
When a debut single blow us away, we tend to get extremely excited in the dojo. This just happened with the Swedish band Hymner who dropped their song “Apart” with Bast. The indie dance vibes on this one are unlike most things we come across, making it just the right first step for the group.
Emerging with “Apart” was the perfect move. Us and other fans alike are enjoying this one as much as we can and thinking about just what is to come next from Hymner. They have established their sound in part, but given the myriad of influences on this, we’re going to guess they’ll surprise us in the future with something else that isn’t anything like the debut single. In due time the full scope of the project will be revealed, but for now take time to fully envelop yourself in “Apart.”
“Lay It On Me” is the latest work from Sweden’s Kasbo. The independently released single features the Australian vocalist Keiynan Lonsdale. It’s coming just at the right time as Kasbo has some upcoming festival slots, as well as some tour stops with ODESZA.
Kasbo is coming off the start of a new mix series as well as his last original that received over one million plays on Soundcloud alone. “Lay It On Me” has the potential to rack up that amount for Kasbo again with its bubbly personality and catchy nature. This track is definitely something you are going to want to catch live, so if Kasbo is making a stop anywhere near you, then you need to attend. Upon listening to this you’ll see why it is a must.
If you see Waka Flocka involved in a project, then you know the turn up is real. If you see that Styles&Complete are involved as well, like with “Run Cities” on Buygore, then you have no chance of escaping the madness. All you can do is prepare yourself for a whole lot of raw energy that will blow you away.
“Run Cities” is a ferocious trap tune that is one of our favorite Waka Flocka crossover collaborations yet. The concept of this song is pretty straightforward, those involved in its creation will run your city and after listening through this song once you see why. It takes hold with a certain swagger that only Waka and company can express. With all the Summer singles that are coming out, this is near the top as far as bass music is concerned. Want a copy? It’s out now on digital platforms.
Pop/electronic crossover tracks are here and they are here to stay. One of the acts pushing the sound is Steve Void. The producer hails from the Netherlands and has managed to sway fans with his upbeat records, including his latest work “Rooms” on The Falling Apple.
“Rooms” is a vocal driven hit that’s catchy beyond measure. It has the perfect balance of pop and dance, making it a striking track that can seduce a listener from both fields. That has been Steve’s strength in the past and it doesn’t look like he’ll be ditching his formula anytime soon. “Rooms” is the next step in the right direction for someone looking to make it out of the EDM bubble and into the mainstream music arena.
Ryden certainly has the recipe for success. She’s been cooking up hot tracks on her own, pushing her project independently on a route that could take her to some big places in music. Her newest release is her biggest endeavor yet, a hip-hop hybrid called “The Recipe” that has its own music video, directed by Ryden herself.
Videos aren’t something new to Ryden as she’s put together trailers for her tracks previously. However, now we’ve got a full fledged music video that is anything but a simple DYI project, despite Ryden actually doing it herself. It’s a major project, with some impressive shots and locations. For the song, Ryden amps up her hip-hop meets trap sound for something even more edgier than her previous works. All in all, both creative halves of “The Recipe” are on point.
I’ve been to more conferences than I can count–music, tech, entrepreneurship–the list goes on and on. The next sentence I’m about to write comes from a place of absolute confidence, authenticity, and steadfast conviction. This is the most excited I’ve ever been to go to a conference. Ever.
Taking place in the epicenter of entertainment, Hollywood, California, WORLDZ has a lineup that, if compared to a music festival, would call on associations of Goldenvoice’s masterpiece, Desert Trip. It’s made up of absolute legends–the kind most people would kill for a chance to hear live once in their lifetime.
On a personal level, I’m looking forward to speakers from the music and journalism industries. That should go without saying. Industry leaders like Kaskade (Multi-Grammy Award-Nominated Singer, Songwriter & Producer), Quincy Jones (Producer, Conductor and Musician), will.i.am (7x Grammy Award-winning Artist, Entrepreneur and Philanthropist), Bob Pittman (CEO & Chairman of iHeartMedia), Tom Punch (Chief Commerical & Creative for VICE), Marc Ecko (Chief Brand and Creative Officer for Complex), and countless other titans will grace the stage over a two-day span.
Beyond my place in the music industry, I come from a marketing background. My degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver is in marketing, and I’ve worked in a handful of firms and advertising agencies while running The Music Ninja. As the landscape of business continues to grow and evolve, it’s important to keep looking forward. And, who better to lead that vision than top global brands, startups and creators?
If you’re a self-starter, looking for personal or professional growth, are interested in the entertainment industry, I would highly advise picking up a ticket. You can do so here.
