Barely Great – WEIRD000 [TMN Premiere]
LA’s Barely Great is readying his upcoming EP, Imperfect, complete with five singles out this Friday. Today, Monday, we’ve got an exclusive peak at one of those five tracks thanks to this Music Ninja Premiere!
For all those eccentric bass lovers out there, we’ve got our ears on “WEIRD000.” The industrially influenced trap take has some of the most interesting sound design you’re going to find. The bass designs feel like they are dripping wet straight into your ear while the percussion pounds away in a hypnotic fashion. Expect much more of this excellence on the EP this Friday, but for now, enjoy “WEIRD000” on us.
“With this EP I’m trying to create something unique. I’m not trying to follow any trends of what I think works already. I want to create new sounds in patterns that make people feel new feelings. I want to be my own person.”

[Music Ninja Radio] Episode 155: Drive Time Mix w/ Jeremy Black
Soundcloud || iTunes Podcast || Spotify Playlist || BFF.fm Archive & Tracklist
This episode marks the return of our Drive Time Mix series featuring two hours of house / techno music mixed live. I played some recent favs for the first hour and the multi-talented Jeremy Black took over for the second. Jeremy’s selection was a mix of forward-thinking club tracks inspired by his semi-recent move to Berlin from SF and some of his own original unreleased cuts. If you dig his mix as much as I did, make sure to check out his work as part experimental electronic outfit Awefekt and look out for his solo album which is set to drop at the end of the year. If you’re not familiar with his fantastic former band Apollo Sunshine, give them a spin as well!from The Music Ninja https://ift.tt/2H09APR
[Electro Pop] DayFox – Lioness
The German creative DayFox has blessed us with some good ol’ happy music. The single “Lioness” dropped as a free download and has been marketed alongside DayFox’s catalog as royalty free music for other creatives like vloggers, streamers etc. Which is perfect, because “Lioness” has just the right sound for sync opportunities.
“Lioness” is a poppy electronic anthem that blends breakbeat percussion, heavenly vocal chops and calming keys together in a magnificently beautiful way. DayFox really honed in on making this sound iconic and accessible as possible. It’s not necessarily a groundbreaking tune in any regard, but it certainly is one of the strongest electro pop tracks we’ve heard this year. And now we’re looking forward to even more from Dayfox.

[Pop] KDL – 777 (feat. Ferras)
It’s not often you see producers from across the world coming together to form a duo, but that’s just how KDL came to be. The New Jersey meets Norway duo have hit our radar with their latest single “777” featuring Ferras.
“777” is an emotionally driven pop gem pairing together a bustling instrumental with a grooving vocal performance. It’s reminiscent of some works from The Weeknd, but it still retains an independence that makes the single memorable in its own right. KDL certainly have talent when it comes to writing pop records with influence from other genres and even time periods, so don’t be too surprised if you catch them working with some top tier mainstream talents in the future.
