Music Ninja Radio is a weekly podcast recorded and broadcast live on San Francisco’s BFF.fm  from 4-6PM PST every Friday.

Soundcloud || iTunes Podcast || Spotify Playlist  || BFF.fm Archive & Tracklist

This week’s episode was heavily focused on two amazing hip-hop albums that dropped last week: Earl Sweatshirt‘s lo-fi and emotionally devastating Some Rap Songs and J.I.D‘s cinematic flow clinic DiCaprio 2. Other highlights include a chillwave-tinted jam from Mk.gee, Chance the Rapper‘s best song in a long time, an entrancing cut from Overmono and Loods delivering his signature dreamy sound for Shall Not Fade‘s 3 Years of Service compilation.

[Electro Pop] Spazz Cardigan – DOIDOIT

The indie pop maverick Spazz Cardigan is back at it with a new single. As one of Nashville’s standout talents, it’s always a pleasure to hear from this creative and you can be sure “DOIDOIT” does not disappoint.

In combination with producer Jeff Sojka, “DOIDOIT” came together as a fusion of pop and dance music, more specifically the future bass sound that has steadily been taking over the mainstream over the past couple years. Just as Spazz is a standout in his town, one that isn’t easy to stick out in, Spazz shines bright in a style that has been overcome by people trying to ride the wave. Spazz makes it his own just as usual and that’s why we’re loving this gem.

[Trap] Billy Zigg – Bronco (feat. Jeff Kush)

Ahhhh, we can never pass up a good hybrid bass track. This time around it’s from the New York producer Billy Zigg whose debut single “Bronco” features Jeff Kush who some might know from his own exploits, as well as bits with YOOKiE, Riot Ten and more.

Billy takes a diverse approach to this single, which features three different drops for various crowds of dance music lovers. A little trap, jersey and dubstep meet your ears as you progress through this boastful bass beast. “Bronco” is available as a free download, so for those of you file collectors, grab it! Otherwise, enjoy the stream.

[Electronic] Donna Missal – Keep Lying (Sapphire Adizes Remix)

Sapphire Adizes returns with another big remix. For those unfamiliar, he is a saxophonist, producer, and singer-songwriter who draws on his background in classical and jazz to create symphonic electronic tracks rich with experimental textures, ethereal vocals, and powerful sax and piano performances. This time around he stepped it up a notch and flipped Donna Missal‘s record “Keep Lying,”

The up and coming musician proves himself to be someone to keep your eye on in the future with this detailed and powerful Donna Missal remix. Stay tuned for new music, this is only his second release to date so I assume he is sitting on a ton of more music!

[Electro Pop] BLV – Sexplanations (feat. Jay Novus)

The Paris producer BLV has slid into the dojo thanks to his latest single. A collaboration with vocalist Jay Novous, “Sexplanations” caught our attention recently with its playful sound.

The track doesn’t aim to reinvent the wheel, instead taking bits and pieces from various genres and piecing them together for a super solid jam whose catchy sound isn’t easily escapable once it’s entered your ears. It’s a fun, sensual little jam that you can play out to get your mood right.
